Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara Review

Oflate I have become a Mascara freak. Even if I don’t do a single eye makeup, mascara is a must have for me. Colorbar got me addicted and after that I have used mascaras from both high end and drug store brands. These days I switch among MAC Zoom Lash Mascara, Lakme Lash Artist (very rarely), and Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara. Just like foundation, I believe that your mascara can make or break your overall look. A lame, clumpy mascara can make even your most beautiful eye makeup look dull while a nice mascara can make your simple eyeliner stand out. Apart from foundations, mascaras are the one thing I like to invest in and especially when I am blessed with long lashes, I like to maintain them for years.

What I love about Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara?
Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara

  • It doesn’t clump at all. I can very well pamper my lashes with the brush without getting bothered about any clumps.
  • It dries at the blink of my eyes. The formula is gel like.
  • It volumizes (not dramatically though) and lengthens my lashes.
  • Delhi’s temperature these days is soaring at the maddening rate of 45 degrees and this mascara just doesn’t melt or comes off. I don’ know how many times in past few days I have worn my mascara 12 p.m. to 9 pm. types and have come back with my lashes as fresh as ever. Even if the temperature soars at 50 degrees, it would only make your lashes look more beautiful.
  • During these bright summer days I don’t like very dramatic blackest of black mascaras, this one passes the test there also. This is especially my day mascara where I want big, non clumpy lashes and that do not look OTT. This one gets full marks there.
  • It keeps my lashes curled for atleast 7 hours (did a full test drive. :P)
  • It does not irritate my eyes.
  • It doesn’t dry my lashes at the end of the day. It keeps my eye lashes soft.
  • The brush is thin and the bristles are such that it can easily coat your lashes from the roots and even pick up the tiny lashes at the inner and outer corner of your eyes.
  • Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells MascaraI love the packaging. It’s pretty flaunt worthy. 😛
  • You can use this for good 6 months . Although I think with the rate I am using it, I am going to finish this up within 2-3 months only.
  • I always get compliments for my lashes whenever I wear it. :X-P:

The only thing that I can’t vouch for is whether it lengthens or lashes or not. You have to use it every single day, I don’t. It’s precious.

I also received my Lancome Genfique youth Activator Serum bottle today. The review of it might take a little time , say more than two weeks. According to my Genfique tests, my skin has hydration problems and my eye area needs to be treated well. Starting today, I would be religiously using it and would get my skin re-checked before I put the review. 🙂 Meanwhile I also encourage you guys to get your skin tested at Lancome outlets so that you are able to figure out the problem areas of your skin. 🙂

    1. It is. The other day I couldn’t believe that a mascara could stay on so long. It was like for 6-7 hours. Lashes curled, fresh and clean.

  1. Rati….your eyes…..the twinkle in your eyes overshadows the mascara……. 🙂 🙂 im sure your husband would agree…………. :inlove:

  2. ….most healthiest eyes i have ever seen…specifically i would say the “white area” of the eyes. 🙂

    1. This could be because I have been wearing surma all my life. My naani used to make it for me. Now I only rely on Lotus Kajal.

      Thank you. 🙂

          1. no….but I got the other ones from the haull…….and you know what, I found them exactly as you had described…..worth every penny that I spent….thanks. 🙂 :inlove:

            1. oh wow!! 🙂 I do get a free stuff but I like to do my honest reviews. I end up not working with a lot of companies in the process but I am okay with it. A lot depends on the companies as well. Lotus never asked me not to write any con of their product or gave me any instruction on how should i present my reviews. Infact they took reviews from all of you seriously and even update d their website. . 🙂

              1. I have found Lotus to be a worthy brand….I even got the detan face pack from Lotus, which Smitha had reviewed…..that too I ordered it on the phone and got it delivered. 🙂

                1. That’s great , Jomol. Lotus might not be the biggest brand in the world but they will surely reach bigger heights. These guys are honest with what they are doing and work hard to brings improvements. I respect them for that, really. 🙂

  3. You know Rati, ever since I found you and makeupandbeauty.com, I have purchased most of the things that you have given a thumbs up and ignored the ones that disappointed you. In the bargain, I have saved a lot of money, got a little bit of knowledge of what goes into each thing, and I am now ordering what I want over the phone rather than going to the stores and spending a considerable amount of time reading what is written behind the pack. Now, since, I have a child and do not have even a minute to spare, makeupandbeauty.com has become a boon for me. I get all the details through your blog about the products and I have become much wiser making the correct choices. Earlier, or around a year back, there were no blogs reviewing products that were available in India, so I would just give them a miss, but now, I am hooked on to makeupandbeauty.com….thanks to you Rati…..my mom is so happy that I am not spending obscene amounts of money on cosmetics that don’t suit me at all. 🙂

    1. That’s a huge compliment for me, jomol. Can’t tell you what it means to me. I don’t know what to say. I hope I continue doing the same thing.

*load of love* and thank you for making my day. :-* :-*

      1. No…thank you Rati for all that I mentioned above……. :inlove: :inlove: ….please continue the good work for all of us!! 🙂

  4. Wow ! I love this look .. I hardy noticed the mascara..the blue on waterline makes whites of your eyes POP !!
Btw Do mention the products used in this look 🙂
I’m loving this particulkar blue..reminds me “electra” of Colorbar

    1. Ooopps!! There is no blue on the waterline. Here are the products i used:

      MAC Paint Pot – painterly
Lid colour from Maybelline Chai Latte
MAC Fluidline – Waveline – upper and lower lash liner
      Waterline- Lotus Herbal Kajal
Inner Corner- Bourjois Smokey Eye trio
      Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara

      🙂

  5. nice post.i liked ur eye make up.i haven’t tried any other color eyeliner except black, brown & gray.i don’t know how other colors gonna look on me.i have brown eyes.plz tell me which color gonna look good on me & won’t look drammatic.thx

  6. Looks absolutely lovely.. Most imp it looks close to natural… :inlove: A lot of mascara can make you look like a cheap plastic doll… :beauty: This one looks quite natural and your eyes are hypnotic… 😉

So that’s three in the fan club… What say, jomol???

    1. I know, M. No matter how many coats of mascara I apply, it doesn’t clump and doesn’t look unnatural at all. I don’t want to say this but *cough* lakme mascara*cough*cough* made my eyes look like a cheap plastic doll. :silly:

      Thank you. 🙂

  7. Your lashes look great even without mascara Rati :-)) . The blue fluidline looks fabulous!

One more person has to review the Kaya Hydra Cleanse 😉

    ♥xx♥

  8. Hi Rati, as usual great review, just had a couple of questions- is this mascara safe for contact lens users? (Im guessing yes, since its a high end brand), and do u use a lash curler to curl ur lashes? My lashes are long but poker straight so Im wondering if i would have to use a curler or whether this mascara would do the job? 🙂

P.S: and ya as Whikfield would say ‘Sexy Eyes” 😉

    1. Here you go from the Lancome website:

      Fragrance-Free.
      Ophthalmologist Tested. Allergy Tested.
      Safe for contact lens wearers.

I would say it has a little fragrance but I think that fragrance is of the formula. Nothing like they have added fragrance to it. I do use lash curler. Bought it a year back for Rs 30 and it does a great job. lol!! I want to buy the legendary Shu Uemura lash curler but so far i am pretty happy with mine. This mascara would hold your lashes curled up. Do buy a lash curler. You would love what it does to your lashes. 🙂

      Thank you. 🙂

      1. Rati, Are you talking bout the Vega lash curler.. I have that too.. And yes it works fine… :lashes: :lashes:

  9. Thx Rati, I donno abt the lash curler tho, (it looks like an instrument of torture to me) Im so afraid to use it, but since a very credible source(I mean U) recommends it, Ill look for the cheap one (Vega right?)

    1. I dunno if my lash curler has brand as well. lol!!! It is not a torture instrument, it’s just the matter of getting used to it. You have to start somewhere no? 🙂

        1. It doesn’t. Lash curler is an investment. I was scared of it so I bought the cheaper one. Now I am addicted to it. :inlove: I might invest in a good one now. 🙂
