How are you doing today? I am back again with my favorite lipstick brand – L’Oreal. You all know my secret love and passion for L’Oreal cream lipsticks. No matter how many lip products I own, but first love is last love, they say! Anyway, can you believe that I have owned this neutral shade for the last 1.5 years, but somehow, it always got lost in my stash, only to resurface on my SIL’s wish! She is fond of neutrals being a model cum actress by profession, hence we feel really comfortable to speak about fitness, beauty and other topics. I encourage her to wear bright, colorful lip colors and she always wishes to see me in n*de pinks and beiges which never happens 😛 But now that I am well familiar with the significance and importance of n*de lipsticks, (credit goes to you IMBBians as well SIL), I tried my hands at this pink beige beauty finally! The first and foremost impressive feature of this lipstick is its long shelf life. It has been a few years since I used it and it still applies like fresh butter on my lips. Needless to say, it increased my love and trust for this brand. Now, please read on to know more about L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Fairest N*de.
$5-$7 for 0.13 Oz (3.6 g), price varies from store to store.
Indulge in richness beyond compare with our most luxuriously rich color and intensely rich hydration. Colour Riche® Lipcolour is richer, creamier and more moisturizing than ever before. In addition to nourishing ingredients like Omega 3 and Vitamin E, the formula is enriched with Argan Oil to condition and soften lips. Your lips are kept soft, smooth, and ultra-hydrated. With a spectrum of 42 gorgeous shades from bold to nearly nude, Colour Riche® Lipcolour offers a shade that’s perfect for every look and any occasion.
This creamy neutral shade comes in the signature golden case with opaque packaging exclusive to L’Oreal. I also adore the L’Oreal embossing on the lipstick which looks classy. It is user friendly, travel friendly and a strongly scented lip color which might bother sensitive noses, though I like its vanilla smell.
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick – Fairest N*de:
L’Oreal’s Fairest N*de seems a pinkish neutral shade on hands and lips. Initially, I was skeptical of wearing it on my pale skin until one fine day when my sister in law encouraged me to wear it. Finally, I tried it and to my surprise, it complimented my pale skin so well. Moreover, it works awesomely on my SIL’s skin tone. I will categorize her skin tone under light/medium with pink undertones and she says this shade makes a perfect pink n*de shade for her photoshoots and auditions. Even I felt the same, it does not wash me out. In fact, it adds a slight pop of color which goes well with smoky black eyes and almost everything.
Talking about its texture, it’s a buttery creamy texture. However, I feel these light shades often tend to settle in lines and patches as per my experience with other L’Oreal pale/light lip products. This particular shade slathers like silk on my lips though I feel it sometimes settles on my dry patches; it melts thereafter leaving behind a glossy creamy sheen. It gives me opaque color payoff in two swipes and hence I am sure it will work great on pigmented lips.
It imparts a creamy pinkish n*de pigmentation on my lips in just two strokes which stays put for a good 3-4 hours provided I skip heavy meals and stick to light snacks and water/tea sips. I also observed it works great and stays longer when paired with n*de lip liner. I usually pair it with Sephora Nano Lip Liner in Pure Pinky shade (will review it shortly) which gives me 5+ hours of wear time. As long as it stays on my lips, I feel soft and supple lips and even after removing it off, I don’t need a lip balm for a few hours.
Now, the twist is that L’Oreal lipsticks are heavily scented which is a big deal for sensitive noses though I love scented stuff and hence for me, it’s an added bonus. I did observe that scrubbing and moisturizing prior to using this lip color certainly helps in getting picture perfect finish on lips which is totally comparable to many high-end lip colors. Hence, I totally recommend this shade to every beauty irrespective of skin tone to try it out. It is a great pinkish beige shade for Indian beauties. My SIL has asked for its back up though I am not sure if I will get it again not because I did not like it, but only because I am not yet into n*des unlike my SIL who tends to like n*de colors.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick – Fairest N*de:
- Universal pinkish beige shade with no shimmers, packed with goodness of vitamin E, argan oil, omega 3, etc.
- It is super soft and nourishing on lips.
- It gives intense pinkish n*de pigmentation in 1-2 swipes concealing light patches which make it perfect for beauties with pigmented lips.
- Compliments my pale skin very well without washing me out.
- It will suit every Indian skin tone gal, fair/light/medium. It stays put for good 3-4 hours alone while wearing it with a lip liner will give me 4+ hours of wear time.
- It does not irritate or dry out my lips. It slathers like silk and I do not feel the need to use a lip balm beneath this shade. Even after removing it off, I feel soft and nourished lips.
- It’s shelf life is impressive as it still gives me fresh and silky feel, like any new lip color, even after 1.5 years of purchase date.
- Classy golden, user-friendly and travel-friendly packaging at an affordable price.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick – Fairest N*de:
- This lipstick has a strong fragrance, which might bother sensitive noses.
- It might settle into fine lines and dry patches though scrubbing lips regularly helps in avoiding such issues.
- Staying power could have been better.
- Does transfer on to cutlery and cups.
Well, I don’t have any major issues with this shade apart from these minor cons which can be easily taken care of except for its staying power. For me, this lipstick gets a rating of 4.5/5 and I have already shopped for its backup for my SIL on high demand. Personally, I think this shade will last me for good years and hence I may not get it for myself again!
