Cushion foundations have been quite popular in the Korean beauty world and now drugstore brands are also catching up with the fad. L’Oréal launched their True Match Lumi Cushion foundation a few weeks ago and I picked it up at the first possible opportunity. So, read on to find out more about this foundation.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation:
Packaging: The foundation comes in a gorgeous compact with a rose gold lid. The lid opens up to
reveal a mirror on one side and a sponge applicator sitting on a tray. You need to flip open the tray to reveal the sponge cushion soaked in the liquid foundation. This is a design typical of all cushion foundations and it works pretty well. There is no danger of the liquid foundation leaking.
The puff/sponge applicator is pretty handy and it actually works quite well.
You just need to tap it on the foundation cushion and it picks up the right amount of product. It is also easy to use the puff to blend out the product.
You can use a brush as well if you want to but it is not really needed. The applicator can be washed with water and soap to clean it.
Texture/Finish/Coverage/Lasting Power: This foundation is very lightweight. It does not feel heavy at all and blends out very easily. The coverage is sheer to medium and L’Oréal advertise it as buildable. However, it does not provide full coverage. It does even out the skin and brightens up the face. But, you cannot depend upon it to hide any heavy skin imperfections. I personally like the light, natural coverage that it provides which does not look cakey or made up at all.
The finish is satiny and somewhere in between matte and dewy. I like that it does not highlight or cling to any dry patches on the skin. The lasting power is a bit of a disappointment. On me, it wears only for about 5-6 hours. It will last slightly longer if you set it with a powder.
Pros of L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation:
- Very natural-looking finish.
- Brightens up the face.
- Has a light feel and provides medium coverage.
- Easily blendable.
- Puff applicator works quite well.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation:
- Does not provide heavy coverage.
- Lasting power is average at around 5-6 hours.
- Slightly expensive compared to drugstore brands.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation?
Those of you who like light foundations and do not need very heavy coverage should surely try it out. I will not repurchase as I like to try out newer products.
