MAC Liptensity Lipstick Postmodern Review

You cannot even think about reviewing a MAC lipstick on IMBB. Everything was done and dusted by Rati ages ago (no complaints). 😀 MAC came up with a new permanent range called Liptensity. These lipsticks were created by a tetrachromat, Maureen Seaberg. While browsing these on the MAC website, one word caught my eye ‘tetrachromat’. Digging in more, I found tetrachromats are people who are capable of seeing 100 times more colours than a normal human eye. Isn’t that amazing? Seaberg worked with MAC team and her job was to tweak the colours and make them more beautiful. With her vision, she could clear the unwanted undertones and overtones and make the purest of the colour. MAC has launched 24 shades in this range. Let’s see whether the effort was worth it!

My Experience with MAC Liptensity Lipstick Postmodern:

This time MAC has come up with a very candy-like packaging. For once, it is easy to pick the correct shade from stash as the lid shows the shade of the lipstick. I was not very convinced with this concept initially, because I was sure that the real shade and the cap can never be the same. I mean, there is bound to be some difference in tone, even if minor. But boy, I was wrong!

MAC has managed to nail down the exact bullet shade on the cap. It is a sturdy packaging packaging and closes with secure click. The idea behind launching this range was to provide a hydrating formula and intense accurate colour. And, of course, MAC has absolutely managed to achieve everything.

Postmodern is a super pigmented shade. One swipe is enough to do the job. In one word, I will describe Postmodern as a very ‘young’ shade. It leans more towards the neon family of pinks and is not a subtle pink, for sure. I wore it to the office one day and it definitely felt over the top. Otherwise, it’s a perfect bubble gum shade, apt for a girls’ night out.

It’s a pure hydrating lipstick which can be worn entire day without even a bit of dryness on the lips. Needless to say, the quality is at par with other MAC lippies – no feathering, no bleeding, no tugging and no pulling. One thing is undebatable, MAC can never go wrong when it comes to lippies. They provide you with a bang-on product with zero nonsense.

• Neon-ish (I expected it to be a pleasant shade)
• Tip isn’t made for precision

Would I Recommend MAC Liptensity Lipstick Postmodern?
Talking about the product, I would say it is no less than other MAC lipsticks. However, I was expecting the shade to be a little different. Overall,this is a good product and you can definitely try any one from the range. If you are looking for a fresh, vibrant and young shade, this is what you have been missing in life!
