MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect Protection Visage SPF 50 Review
I have very oily skin with open pores, so was on the lookout for a primer around a year-and-half back, and the SA at MAC suggested that I give the new prep+ prime with SPF 50 a try, I found it very convenient and purchased it right away.
New formula – lighter, weightless and invisible. Lotion-like, skin-protecting cream with SPF 50. Apply under makeup to prime the face before exposure to the sun. Fast absorbing, leaving skin free of any white residual effects. Wear daily to guard against skin discoloration, premature aging, dryness and other effects of sun exposure. Suitable for all skin types.
Not mentioned on tube, got it off the internet.

My Experience with MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect Protection Visage SPF 50:
I first started using this in the cooler months and it made my skin look very dull, I was very disappointed and put it away. But again this summer I re-tried this product and fell in love with it.
It comes in a black glittery tube. The cap needs to be screwed open and shut like tooth paste, which I don’t like because its a waste of time. Need to shake well before use or the creme and the oil in the primer separate.
The texture of the primer is thick and silky. One small pea-sized drop is enough to cover the entire face, it glides very easily on the face. Massage till it runs completely dry. There is no stickiness or shine after using this, makes the skin completely matte. The amazing thing is that it doesn’t leave a white cast like many strong sunscreens. There is a very faint smell which is not annoying. I use it directly after cleansing and toning and skip my moisturizer as this is a hydrating primer. People with dry-combination skin can apply this after moisturizing and for those extra hot and humid days, I use my pore minimizer over this. After this, apply foundation or powder as required, and I have noticed that it makes my makeup stay and skin look matte, much longer than otherwise putting it on without the primer. After 3-4 hours, I need to re-powder my T zone.
Pros of MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect Protection Visage SPF 50:
- Contains SPF 50.
- Does not leave a white cast on skin.
- Non greasy.
- Can skip moisturizer.
- Little goes a long way.
- Fragrance free.
- Has not broken me out.
Cons of MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect Protection Visage SPF 50:
- It contains some oil.
- Don’t like the cap packaging.
Besides that I have no issues with this product, and it worked very well for me and shall definitely repurchase this very soon.
