Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque Review

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque Review

Hi Everyone,

I will be reviewing a hair mask today which has been doing the rounds on youtube, vlogs, and all over the internet. It is the hair mask from the brand “Macadamia Natural Oil” and it’s the deep repair mask. Just like my obsession with face masks, my obsession with hair masks has also grown over the years. I had chemically straightened and then relaxed my hair a couple of times and have been ironing my hair often. This has left the ends of my hair in a frizzy mess. I have been trying different hair treatments and masks in the recent past from hot oils, masks and treatments to everything in-between ranging from high end to drugstore products.

I have also been trying to find my HG shampoo and conditioner, so you will be seeing quite a bit of hair care reviews soon.  Back to the masque, this macadamia range has been quite a rage in Australia (and I’m sure worldwide) in the recent past.  It is used at most hair salons and it is sold at dedicated hair care stores.  I have been eyeing them for ages, especially the mask, but the products were really pricey.  The 250 ml tub was priced at AUD 40 and a sachet containing 10 ml was AUD 8.

My Experience with Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque:

I oiled my hair and washed with Avon natural’s hibiscus and raspberry shampoo. After that, I applied one third of the sachet mask on the mid to end of my hair and wore a shower cap just to make the mask sink in (it’s so expensive I wouldn’t want to waste it) and left it for about 5-10 minutes. As soon as I started washing off, I could feel that my hair was tamed, soft and repaired. Hair smelt lovely; however, it was a familiar nice scent which overtook the fragrance of the shampoo and shower gel I was using. The mask was of light beige colour and looked cream like.

After drying my hair, it felt smoother, tamed and instead of the frizzy mess, my hair had nice soft curls. However, because of the taming part, my hair also had less volume but it suited me.The roots as well as the ends looked the same and felt the same.  This was great as the roots had “new” hair whereas the ends were “processed.” My hair smelt wonderful for at least a couple of days.  However, the fragrance was not of an expensive product , it smelt more like “Sunsilk” – at least that’s what hubby commented.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque 9

Overall, I absolutely love this hair masque except for the price. As a bonus, it didn’t make my scalp any oilier like silicone-loaded drugstore hair masks do.

Pros of Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque:

  • Repairs damaged hair and makes it soft and smooth.
  • Turns frizzy hair into smooth loose curls.
  • Smells nice and the fragrance lasts awhile.
  • Gives hair the look and feel of a professional treatment.
  • Does not coat hair and does not make it limp.
  • Does not make the scalp oily.
  • Paraben free.

Cons of Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque:

  • Not easily available at mainstream stores.
  • Quite expensive.
  • The fragrance does not smell “special” or expensive, it smells like Lux/Sunsilk.

  4. it is actually alcohol free. they have used cetaryl alcohol. It is a waxy substance which is derived from vegetable sources. It is used to give testure to the product… used as an emulsifier.

I would looove to give this range a try. Have heard so much about it. And now your review has totally tempted me. 🙂
