Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Face Masque Review

Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Face Masque

Ladies, I am sucker for chocolates and of late for dark chocolates. A few months back while shopping in Boots I had picked up Montagne Jeunesse face masques. I had used one and two were lying in the cupboard forgotten. Yesterday, while looking around for something else I noticed these masques. I am currently in a chocolate indulgence mode (chocolate cake, chocolate ice-cream), so I thought if I am going to apply a face masque it has to be the chocolate one. So here is my review of the masque.

Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Face Masque

What the product claims?

Nourish your skin with a feast of rich and creamy delights. Treat yourself to a mud masque with a difference!
Rich in natural ingredients this deep cleansing chocolate mud masque will help to unblock pores, allowing impurities to be drawn out. Coupled with the skin healing properties of Dead Sea Salt, and the moisturising benefits of Cocoa Butter & Shea Butter, you will be left with renewed, rehydrated and younger looking skin.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Kaolin, Illite(Mediterranean clay), Glycerin, Glyceryl stearate SE, Bentonite,Cocoa Seed Butter, Shea butter, Aroma(flavour)Glucose, Citric acid, lactoperoxidase, Glucose oxidase and Iron oxides

Cost: 20g for 99pence โ€“ I got 3 for the price of 2 ๐Ÿ™‚

My experience

Chocolate masque

The masque comes in a sachet which is unique and very easy to open. Taking it out from the sachet was a little difficult though. However the consistency of the mask is perfect I feel, neither too thick nor very runny. Itโ€™s creamy and soft like chocolate cake batter ๐Ÿ˜‰ and smells heavenly.

Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Face Masque

I applied the mask and within 5 minutes I could feel it getting firm. Within 15 minutes it was totally dry and firm. I let it stay on for another 5 minutes and then washed it off with water. As with any face pack/mask the washing part is what takes the most time. Next time I think I will wipe it off with a wet tissue.

I am not sure if it did any pore cleansing as it claims, but my skin was smooth and firm. It felt refreshed. And as a bonus there was mild smell of chocolate lingering on for an hour or so.

Pros:
– The awesome smell โ€“ I do a lot of home baking and when I applied this mask it felt like a chocolate cake was getting baked at home -such a delicious aroma
– BUAV approved
– Vegetarian Standards approved
– For normal, dry and T-zone skin
– Offers deep pore cleansing
– Moisturises and Hydrates
– No added parabens

Cons:
Availability โ€“ If you are in UK you will find it in most beauty shops and pharmacies. I found it on Ebay India too โ€“ however they are priced insanely high. (They donโ€™t ship internationally directly from their website, however they have a store on Amazon which ships worldwide.)

Final verdict
4.8 out of 5
Loved everything about it. Wish the sachet was more ergonomic though. It looks unique which is their plus point but taking it out from the sachet with a little bit difficult.

Will I buy again?
YES โ€“ absolutely. Any chocoholic will โ€“ once they have tried it.

PS: I am sure many of you must be wanting to ask me how it tastes . ๐Ÿ™‚ Well, I did try a very little bit and it was nice – like melted chocolate.

    1. nature’s essence has chocolate pack, you can make your own chocolate pack by adding cadbury cocoa powder with curd or milk, i have seen only these, I think naturoma also has chocolate pack available at many cosmetic shops at shyam bazar and esplanade, i stayed at kolkata from august 2008 to july 2011, so left kolkata, and now am at ranchi !

  5. great review ๐Ÿ™‚ i love all the masks that ive tried by Montagne Jeunesse, but i think this one has to be one of my faves, just for the smell hehe ๐Ÿ™‚
