How To Make Aloe Vera Gel at Home – Two Ways To Make Aloe Vera Gel For Face

Isn’t it a fact that all of us love to use aloe vera gel, since aloe vera contains a lots of benefits for skin, hair and health. It provides perfect hydration to skin and feels extremely soothing at the same time. It also treats various skin problems as well as hair issues. There are a lot of cosmetic brands that offer aloe vera gel, but still, if you want to own natural gel directly from the plant, then read on further. Today, I am going to share two amazing ways of making aloe vera gel at home. These are easy and quick procedures. You only need to have an aloe vera plant at home. Homemade Aloe Gel is pure and 100% chemical free as well. Also, you can mix the other ingredients according to your choice. Now, let’s get into details.

Ingredients:

• Aloe vera leaves.
• Vitamin E capsules (One strip of capsules is available for as low as INR 30 in medical stores/pharmacies).
• Gelatin powder.

First Simple Procedure:

• • First, you need to cut a fresh leave from the plant and then wash it well to get rid of any dirt. After that, wipe off the water to avoid any excessive slipperiness that might lead to any accident. Also, discard the yellow discharge that initially drains out from the part that has been cut.
  • Next, cut away both the edges that are hard carefully and peel off the green skin as close as possible.

• Now, use a spoon and peel off the clear gel in a bowl. Make sure, you remove the entire gel from the skin as well. The best way is to scrape over the gel slowly to get the liquid slippery texture.
• If you have any cubes over there, use a fork to make them smooth or you can use a normal hand blender as well, use a non-electric blender because electric one may make the gel runny.
• Now, the consistency should be medium gel like and smooth too.

Once you have extracted all the gel out of the leaves, add one vitamin E capsule to it. I have used a normal Vitamin E 400 capsule. You have to remove the actual Vitamin E oil from the capsule and mix it well with the aloe gel.

Again, use the hand blender to blend it all well. Now, you can store it in a jar for future use. In this way, you can prepare natural aloe vera gel which is 100% pure. You can store it for around 1 month in the refrigerator. Though this gel is quite liquid in consistency, not jelly-like in consistency, but it’s the most natural way to use aloe vera.

Second Procedure:
To make natural aloe vera gel in a jelly-like texture, I use vegetable gelatin with it. First, you need to boil up 1/3th cup of water and once it starts boiling, add 1 tea spoon of gelatin powder to the bowl.

Stir it until the powder melts nicely into water and then take it off the flame. Wait for 1-2 minutes and then add 1-1 tbsp of gelatin mixture with the prepared aloe vera gel (extracted using the same procedure mentioned above).  (Match quantity according to the aloe gel). Mix it well with the same hand blender and pour all the contents into a jar.

Keep the jar in the refrigerator for a few hours, and the gel will turn into a jelly-like texture that you can easily apply on your skin.

Different Ways To Use Aloe Vera Gel To Become More Beautiful:

• Apply this gel directly on your skin and blend it well. It starts to melt once you blend it and then within a few minutes, it sets to a perfect, non-sticky, non-oily texture.
• You can apply it on your hair as well as on body.
• Apply this as a face mask or you can add other ingredients to make your own customized mask.
• Also, use it as a soothing eye gel and apply a thick layer of it on your under-eye area.
• With a clean mascara wand, apply this gel over your eye lashes to get beautiful long thick lashes.

Notes and Tips:

• Vitamin E acts as a natural preservative and helps the aloe vera gel to stay fresh for longer. It’s obviously an optional step, but if you want to store it for a month, then you have to use vitamin E. Otherwise, it will stay fresh and usable for just one week.
• The quantity of vitamin E needed depends on your skin type and personal preference. If you have oily skin, then add only one capsule. If you have dry skin, then you can use two capsules. Since vitamin E oil is thick and sticky, so you have use it according to your choice.
• If you are allergic to vitamin E, then you can use vitamin C powder as well.
• Using Gelatin powder is also optional, it’s not harmful for your skin. Still, it’s better to do a patch test before using it. It just helps to make the gel thicker and jelly like.
• As it’s a homemade gel, it would feel sticky on the skin initially, but you have to blend it thoroughly into the skin and wait for a few minutes to get best results. Within a few minutes, it sets into a perfect, non-sticky, non-oily texture that feels so comfortable on the skin. Some gelatin powders have a strong fragrance to them, so to avoid such an issue, you can add skin-friendly essential oils to this gel.
• Use a spoon to take the gel from the jar. It helps to keep the gel hygienic and also increases the longevity of the product.
• Keep in the refrigerator, otherwise, the formula will melt away into a thin texture.
