Makeup Academy Pearl Eyeshadow- Shade 26

How are you all? How is summer treating you? In my case, it’s painful with summer boils. Well, I am writing after a week as I was busy giving tuition classes *happy dance* to kids.  It’s impossible to control them, but their innocent words calms my temper down every time I want to be strict with them as a teacher. No doubt they are cute and love me too!

So today I found out sometime to test and try a product from MUA. Recently after looking at Kareena Kapoor Khan’s new Lakme Illusion eyeshadows makeup, in which she has applied the shade Blue pearl and Pink Pearl, I fell for those shades too. But because of my empty pocket I was not able to get both of the shades, then one day I saw these shade at MUA counter and bought them.

Price:- INR 615 (As per website) but they are on discount mostly.

Packaging:- The eyeshadow comes in small, cute round shaped container, with a transparent lid. Which makes it easy to identify the shade from the cosmetic jungle in your stash *hihi*. Although the packaging is simple but looks quite attractive, it’s so cute and so small to easily fit in your jeans pocket.

My take on Makeup Academy Pearl Eyeshadow- Shade 26:

Color, Texture and Pigmentation: The shade 26 is a true aqua green color with very minuscule golden shimmer in it, which actually acts as golden pigment in it. It has more green & golden undertones to it, which makes it a perfect shade for party wear too. I just love this shade, it’s just perfect for summer days because of the aqua green color. I had tried and tested and can say this shade is suitable for all skin tones, especially dusky complexions, yes, it looked more flattering on my friend who is slightly dusky than on me.

The texture of the eyeshadow is soft, smooth and has pearl finish to it. It glides smoothly on eyes using brush, or you can use your fingers too for application.

Now coming on to the pigmentation part, in which I am a bit dissatisfied, the eyeshadow has medium to good pigmentation. It’s like you can built up the shade easily, but a primer underneath makes the color shows up more intensely than without the primer base. Yes only primer makes the color more visible on lids, so I called the pigmentation is medium to good. Without a primer you have to swipe it multiple times on eyes to get that perfect color, so it’s better to use a primer instead.

Staying Power: The staying power of this eyeshadow is not that bad, it stays for 4- 4.5 hours and so without a primer base. But after 2-3 hours a bit fading can be noticed. And with a primer on, it stayed puts on me for 4-5 hours vibrantly without any fading and creasing. Without a primer base also the eyeshadow doesn’t creases at all.

Pros of Makeup Academy Pearl Eyeshadow- Shade 26:

• Very nice cool shade for summers
• Being a cool toned aqua blue, easily suits dusky skin tones
• Packaging is cute & handy
• A perfect shade for day outings, and evening parties too
• Texture is very soft, and has pearl finish
• Nicely pigmented, with primers
• Staying power is good.

Cons of Makeup Academy Pearl Eyeshadow- Shade 26:

• When wear on eyes without a base, the color doesn’t shows up vibrantly, you will need 2-3 swipes to attain that much vibrant aqua blue color on eyes.
• Pigmentation is not good without primer ( but when hand swatched it comes up more pigmented)
• The golden shimmers or you can say the golden undertones in this shadow, does adds sparkle & glamour in it, though somewhat dominates the actual aqua blue shade (specially when applied on eyes without a primer base).
• Pricey on Indian websites.

Recommendation:- Yes, if you like this shade in swatches do give this shade a try. Also if you are an amateur and fear to try such cool toned shadows for the first time, this shade is going to end your fears, as a nice summer shade, and will not gonna make you look that you’re ” trying too hard “.

A perfect summery shade. Suitable for dusky skin tones, as some cool tone shadows can wash out duskies, so you can opt for this and also if you are searching for dupes of that pocket burning Lakme’s pearl shades. BYE BYE.
