What I think about Maybelline 14 Hour Super Stay Lipstick Perpetual Peony:

Hey gorgeous ladies,

Hope you are doing great. I have been shopping like crazy lately. After I got the red colour from the 14 hour range I wanted to get this shade which is perpetual peony. I have never really owned such a colour. And I thought it be fun to try out.

Perpetual peony is a very beautiful baby pink shade with mauve undertones. It is a very neutral shade according to me. If you want a smoky eye or a heavy eye- makeup and under stated lips this colour is perfect for that. This colour does not wash me out but actually brightens my face. This colour would look lovely on medium/lighter skin tones. I am not too sure how it would look on darker skin tones though.

The texture of the lipstick is really creamy and glides on very smoothly. It settles to a matte finish which looks absolutely gorgeous. It might feel a little sticky though since it is a long stay lipstick. The smell of the lipstick is like a bunch of cranberries which I totally adore. But if you have a problem with such smells it fades away pretty quickly after application.

The staying power is pretty good but it is definitely not 14 hours. It stays on for a good 6-7 hours during which I ate and drank without any touch-ups. It is good if you apply lip balm beneath it so it does not get very drying. You must scrub your lips before applying these lippies since they would accentuate any flakes you might have and worsen them.

The packaging is nice but nothing special. Since the tube is transparent it is easy to find the colour. I wish they did a little better on the packaging.

Overall it is a good lipstick with a decent staying power but not 14 hours of course. Perpetual Peony is a beautiful baby pink which you must give a try.

• 14 hour claim is not true
