Summer is treating me real bad, sans the part where I get to wear bright colors and prints. My refrigerator is loaded with cool drinks and ice creams 😀 I love this part of this season though 😛 Coming to today’s product, it is a lipstick from Maybelline that I got as a gift. This is shade launched outside India of the color show range lipsticks. Let us see how it fared.

My Take on Maybelline Color Show Lipstick In 104 Pink Please :
Packaging: The aesthetics of the lipstick is pretty boring. But the packaging is sturdy and not at all flimsy as it looks. The color coded stickers are a very good idea, along with the color coded bands. I love it. The names are also all quirky.
Shade: Pink please is a baby pink. This shade doesn’t suit most Indian skin tones, no wonder it is launched outside. This shade is very tricky and flatters only fair, cool skin tones. On my lips it looked odd and fluorescent. It made me look all washed out. It looked really pretty when I swatched it, but it was a different story on my lips. It has very fine silver micro-shimmers in it that doesn’t show up when applied.
Texture: The texture is very creamy and smooth. It just glides on lips even though they are not exfoliated. But it tends to settle into fine lines and highlights dry flakes. So, that needs to be taken care of. It settles into a creamy finish that makes the lips look fuller.
Pigmentation: This particular shade is not highly pigmented, it is on the sheer side. It is buildable but cannot be layered as it looks cakey. More than one swipe is needed to cover lip pigmentation.
Staying Power: This lipstick stays around 3.5 hours max without any meals. Since the texture is very creamy it tends to transfer onto anything and everything. I really dislike when I find lipstick marks on spoons and cups which is pretty embarrassing. It fades after 3.5 hours starting from the corners, and the fine shimmers are left behind which tends to spread all over. Touch ups are needed in between. It leaves a stain behind which looks pretty, and needs a makeup remover to get it off.
Lastly, it is gift so I cannot complain. It is a lovely shade and even though I love it I do not admire how it looks on me. This will flatter beauties with very cool, fair skin.

• Color coded stickers are a plus, when I need to find them in a stash.
• The texture is very creamy and smooth.
• Pigmentation is average, but I am into sheer lipsticks.
• It doesn’t feather.
• Lasting power is good, considering the shade is light.
• Settles into a supple finish which some may like.
• Very decently priced.
Cons of Maybelline Color Show Lipstick In 104 Pink Please:
• This shade may not flatter most Indian tones, and it sort of washed me out.
• This shade is not available in India.
• Contains micro-shimmers that gets left behind and spreads all over.
• Transfers due to creamy texture.

Would I Recommend/Re-Purchase Maybelline Color Show Lipstick In 104 Pink Please?
This is a good range to choose from, but I wouldn’t recommend this particular shade as it may look washed out. I cannot complain much but I am happy on receiving this, it is a pretty shade to look at 😀
