My Experience with Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Smooth Charcoal:
This pencil comes in a cardboard packaging. I expected the pencil to be a bit longer than what it is, but it isn’t that long. Anyway, the packaging is color coded and has a sturdy plastic cap on it. The packaging is very basic, nothing too fancy. It is very sleek and can be easily tossed in any makeup bag. The cap fits snugly and is travel-proof as it won’t come off easily. This pencil doesn’t come with a sharpener though.
I have always wanted a gray kajal in my stash, but none of the grey pencils out there in my market was perfect for me, but this “Smooth Charcoal” from Maybelline is exactly the shade I was looking for! It is a deep cement gray color and it looks stunning! I wish I had a nail polish in this precise shade! Do you ever wonder seeing a particular color and think about its availability in some other makeup product? I always do! This pencil is extremely pigmented and only one stroke is needed to get an opaque finish.
The texture is another aspect of the product that will stun you! It has the creamiest finish ever! This glides on like butter, like a dream, whatever you may prefer! It is just the smoothest eye pencil I’ve tried. Since it is super creamy and so smooth, it is in a form of a wooden, traditional pencil form and not a rotating mechanical pencil form, but I can overlook that con blindly.
I applied this kajal on my waterline and also on my arm to test the waterproof and smudge-proof claim. Well, they are true! This pencil lasts for 10 hours easily without moving or smudging from its place. It did not gather around my outer corners throughout the day. I was totally impressed!
