After getting inspired by Rati’s Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil swatches, I also picked two eye pencils from Maybelline. I bought the shades, Striking Copper and Lustrous Sapphire. Today, I’ll be reviewing Striking Copper. So, read on to know more.

My Experience with Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Striking Copper:
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil comes in a pencil form with a transparent cap. The color-coded body makes it easy to locate from the stash. The packaging is not at all sturdy. The plastic cap is barely there but isn’t very protecting. When it comes to packaging, I find the product to be very fragile. The tip of the pencil broke while using it. Since it is in pencil form, it demands frequent sharpening. But, it does not come with a sharpener. The texture of the eye pencil is very creamy. It is so soft that the tip breaks even with the slightest of pressure.
The color selection is really really impressive. I picked up striking copper because it is quite a weddingy color and many weddings in my family keep happening all the time. It is a perfect shade for any celebration and goes perfectly with any Indian attire. “Striking Copper” is a shimmery and light copper shade. Pairing it up with a brown colored eye shadow will give you a beautiful coppery smoky eye look.
It glides smoothly on the skin. There is very fine shimmer to it, which does not give any chunkiness to the shade but makes it look super shiny. It does not irritate my eyes at all. On application, it is very clearly visible on the lower lash line and stays intact. However, it cannot be worn alone. It has to be paired up with a kohl or eyeliner to make it look well-defined. It is the lightest shade from the range and tends to make you look weird if worn alone.

- Very fragile.
- Not a travel-friendly packaging.
- Needs to be paired with a kohl/liner.
- So soft that the tip easily breaks.

I would love to try other shades from the range. This particular shade can only be used for limited purposes.
