My Experience with Maybelline Lip Flush Bitten Lips Lipstick – Raspberry Smoothie:
The packaging of the lipstick is beautiful. It comes in a squarely shaped tube wrapped in a cellophane paper bearing the product description, ingredients list, etc. The tube has a mirror finish and it closes with a long plastic cap having three gradient shades similar to that of the lipstick bullet.
The cap of the lipstick tube has the brand’s tagline embossed on it. The base of the tube bears a color-coded sticker showing the darkest shade from all the three gradient shades of the lipstick bullet. The shade number is written on this sticker but, there is no shade name written on the packaging of these lipsticks. The shade RD01 is called Raspberry Smoothie but, this name is nowhere mentioned on the lipstick tube. I had to check their website for their respective shade names. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel-friendly. The cap shuts tightly and does not slip off.
The shade RD01 Raspberry Smoothie has three different shades with a single bullet to create a perfect gradient effect. The bullet has the shades Nude Beige, Coral Pink and Hot Red. Using this lipstick, one can easily get those Koreans inspired gradient lips. This shade is pretty much wearable and looks pretty on the lips. It is great for everyday use. The lipstick has a decent pigmentation but, it is not suitable for pigmented lips, as it does not give very high coverage. The lipstick has a funny candy-like fragrance that might be bothering for people with sensitive noses but, I personally enjoy how the lipstick smells. The fragrance fades away within a minute.
The texture of the lipstick is super smooth and creamy. It glides all over the lips like a dream. It never causes any tugging or pulling of the lips. The lipstick is very creamy and moisturising similar to a lip balm. It does not cling to the dry patches on the lips. It has a soft sheen that looks really beautiful. It is more like a tinted lip balm than a regular lipstick. So, you really cannot expect a high color payoff from this lipstick. It needs to be layered on to get good coverage and still it does not feel heavy or waxy on the lips.
The application is very smooth because of the creamy consistency of the lipstick. You might have to blend it out more with your fingers to create a smoother gradient. I didn’t blend the lipstick in the lip swatches below and the color gradient is still beautiful. The formula is very hydrating and my lips never feel dry with this lipstick on my lips.
The lasting power is again impressive. The lipstick leaves a beautiful stain on the lips that last for pretty long even when the glossy sheen of the lipstick is gone. The color lasts for some 4-5 hours nicely which is great for a lipstick with such a consistency as most of the lippies with such formula do not last that long. It can be taken off completely using a good makeup remover. Overall, I just love these lipsticks but, I feel it had a better pigmentation.
