Don’t we all have something or the other from this brand in our makeup collection? I am reviewing a liquid eyeliner from Maybelline’s Master Ink Liquid Liner range and it’s called “Black Gold.”

My Experience with Maybelline Master Ink Liquid Eyeliner Black Gold:

Yes! I grew up fancying Maybelline products until I moved to other brands 😉 Maybelline still holds a special place though ☺ I bought this Maybelline Master Ink Liquid Eyeliner in the shade Black Gold recently. I could not personally swatch this product before purchasing. The words “intense, long wear”, “glitter”, “black gold” really got me and I had high expectations from this one. Also, the price factor, it is indeed so affordable!

This liner comes in a regular black eyeliner tube with a white cap. It has a sturdy and fancy packaging with glitter printed on the white cap which makes it attractive. It has a shelf life of six months after first use only.

The liner has a good pointed brush tip which helps in creating precise lines. The liner’s formula is very thin and runny which spreads a little during application. It has micro fine glitter particles which are multi coloured and not golden as the name suggests.

Upon application, it dries very quickly but after drying, the liner appears very dull. It is in fact far from “Black Gold.” It rather looks like a dull brown shade. I did not like the end result mainly cause of the colour. The runny formula can still be lived with since the liner dries very quickly which is a big plus, but the overall colour is not appealing. The liner stayed put for about 8 to 10 hours and the glitter particles did not fall out over the face as well.

The glitter particles carry a subtle shine and not an intense glitter shine which is what I expected from a glitter-infused liner to start with. It is an un-used product in my vanity. Wish they had worked better on the liner’s formula and color.
