NARS recently launched a couple of new products like stick foundations, lip colors and eye products. NARS didn’t have a proper liquid lipstick in their line before but now they have jumped on the bandwagon and released a full-on liquid lipstick range called as the “Powermatte Lip Pigment”. I wanted to try this once I laid eyes on their magnificent packaging. So today, I am going to talk about the “NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment – Rock With You”. My Experience with NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment – Rock With You:

Packaging: These liquid lipsticks posses one of the most luxurious looking packagings that I have ever seen. These lippies have an outer black matte cardboard box with the product details, ingredient list, and the shade name. The actual lipstick itself comes housed in a rectangular black tube with transparent windows which show the shade color precisely. The Powermatte Lip Pigments have a narrow, pointed doe foot applicator that simplifies tracing the edges of the lips without any difficulty. Overall, I am in love with this packaging; there is an aura behind this which makes it all the more special and classy.

Shade: There are totally 20 colors in this range with a myriad of colors, which range from low-key neutrals to pitch-black. I am really pleased with the variety of colors that are in the initial line-up because most of the colors are universally flattering and will suit any skin tone. I felt that there are many bold shades in this range like a dark berry, vampy maroon, deep brown, bright red and a cool purple. I just love the spectrum of colors that Nars has displayed in this line. The shade “Rock With You” has been described as a deep mulberry, which is pretty true. It is a beautiful dark maroon red with a brown undertone. Each of the 20 available Powermatte Lip Pigments is named after classic rock songs and this range includes enough options for everyone to find a new most-played shade which is just cool.

Formula: The formula is kind of unique; they have a gel-like formula that makes applying the color evenly a lot easier. The consistency on this lippie is very liquidy and feels all the more runny while application, but this makes it easy to spread it around on the lips as it glides like butter. The pigmentation of this is bomb dot com; a single coat will give you an opaque finish which will not budge throughout the day. The lipstick takes a few minutes to dry down to a powder matte finish which looks amazing on the lips without accentuating dry patches or lip lines.

The lipstick feels very flexible and comfortable and feels like nothing on the lips. This product is kiss-proof and almost transfer-proof; though it fades a little after having food, reapplication of the product is very easy. I believe it’s most likely due to its consistency, as it is so thin, it layers seamlessly and lies well on top of former applications without looking patchy.

Longevity: This is one of the most long-wearing lipsticks that I have ever seen; it lasted more than ten hours with minimal fading and looked almost new even at the end of the day. The lipstick leaves a beautiful stain on the lips.

Overall, this is a HIT, it is top notch in terms of packaging, performance, color payoff, longevity and consistency. So, if you are dreading drying liquid lipsticks, give this is a try; it is the most comfortable, non-drying and easy-to-use formula available in the market.
