I had come across this eyeliner from this you tube guru who had just raved about this eyeliner and I was so convinced that this color would look amazing on me. She had said that it would look great on everyone and it lives up to its claims. I had done more research on this product and all I had read were very positive reviews about this product. When I had finally bought it, I came to realize that all of them were totally wrong about this eyeliner. And came to the realization that just because it is a “high end” product does not mean it is going to be good!
It is long wearing, achieves rich intense color, easy to apply, and the formula is long lasting.
It is .02 oz. and it retails for around $24 in the US. That is very expensive for the amount of product.
This eyeliner is basically a soft beige ( light almond) color. Many people buy this kind of color because white eyeliner on the waterline looks a bit too dramatic for some people and soft beige is more natural. It is a matte finish which does make it look really natural while still giving it that wider eyes and a more awake look. The appearance is very elegant but it is made out of plastic, which is okay. It also twists up instead of having a sharpener.
Some main ingredients are: Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Synthetic Wax, Polyethylene, and Phenylpropyldimethylsiloxysilicate.
When you first look at this product you do tend to see that it does have a plastic cover which is very interesting because it is a high end product. One thing I really do like about this product is that unlike most eyeliners, this is a twist up eyeliner. Which means no sharpening meaning no messes! When applying this eyeliner it glides on very smoothly but it doesn’t last long! The longevity of this product would be around one hour and then it slowly starts to fade away which is really annoying because you have to reapply it over and over again. The texture is very smooth and doesn’t make you tug your eyes too much. The pigmentation of this product is not that great, with one gentle stroke on your hand , you can get a lot of color. But when you apply it onto your waterline, the pigmentation is not that great!
The way I like to apply this is wearing it with black eyeliner on the top eyelid and then wearing this product in the water line.
Right after I had bought this product I had heard that Rimmel London had come out with a product Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude. I had heard that this was the exact dupe for the NARS Rue Bonaparte and that it was better pigmentation than NARS. I was so mad that I didn’t wait to buy Rimmel Eyeliner instead of the NARS. The NARS eyeliner retails for around $24 and the Rimmel Scandal Eyes retails for around $5.
This product is too pricey and for this eyeliner. I will be using this Nars Rue Bonaparte until it is done. After it is done I will not ever repurchase this product again. I would rather buy the Rimmel Sandal Eyes which is way cheaper and more pigmented I do not recommend this product to anyone. If someone wants to buy a color similar to this, they should go and get the Rimmel Scandal Eyes.

Cons of NARS – Rue Bonaparte Larger Than Life Long-wear Eyeliner:

Over all: 2.5/5
