Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser Review

Hola amigos,

A few days ago, I had reviewed Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Cream Wash. I was happy with the product, but I did tell you that it does not remove my sunscreen thoroughly and I use another cleanser in the evening. Well, Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser is the one that I am using in the evening time. Here’s more on this cleanser.

Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser

My Experience with Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser:

Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser comes in an inverted tube which is cream and black in color, which is the standard packaging theme for this whole “Total Effects” range. The tube is huge and has a flip top cap which closes tightly. The tube has a silicone membrane on the nozzle which makes the packaging more secure and avoids any accidental spillage in case the cap opens. The product flows out through that membrane only when the tube is squeezed. Good thinking on the brand’s part. 🙂

The face wash itself is cream in color and has a pearlescent finish. It is not thick or creamy, but is pretty runny and smooth, and flows out like silk. 😛 It has a lovely floral fragrance which is very mild but does stay on for some time on the skin after you are done washing the face, but the fragrance is not too strong and should not bother sensitive noses.

Coming to the so many claims made by the brand, the cleanser does clean my skin effectively. The amount shown in the swatch is enough for a single use. The name says “foaming” and it does produce a nice, silky foam. Do not expect it to lather a lot. The cleanser removes impurities and dirt from my face and my face does look very bright and even-toned post usage. It washes away easily and my skin does feel clean. It removes my sunscreen and washable mascara but nothing more than that. It does not wash away makeup (well, it does not claim to!), you would need a separate remover for that.

Swatch

It does not dry out my already dry skin and my skin does retain its natural moisture. I do not have to run immediately to apply the moisturizer. Now coming to the pore minimizing claims, I have been using it daily (in the evening) for around a month, but I do not notice any reduction in my pores. Anyway, I feel that pore reduction and minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles cannot be done by using a face cleanser alone. We have creams, serums and treatments for these, right!

The cleanser worked well for my sensitive skin and did not cause any irritation or breakouts.

Pros of Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser:

  • Tube has a silicone membrane to avoid accidental spillage.
  • Cleans up skin and removes all the dirt.
  • Lovely, relaxing fragrance.
  • Does not dry out my skin.
  • Suitable for sensitive skin.

Cons of Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser:

  • I did not notice any reduction in pore size.

IMBB Rating:

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser?
Overall, this one is good (but not great) everyday cleanser, but remember, no magic can be done by using face cleanser alone. I might repurchase it again if I do not spot anything new or better in the market. 😉
