Oriflame Renewing Hand Scrub

After I had a pleasant experience using the foot scrub from Oriflame, I was eyeing this hand scrub for long time & finally bought it this time to see how it works. This is the first hand scrub that I bought from the Oriflame range & here is my take on the scrub.

Oriflame Renewing Hand Scrub

Some facts about Hand scrubs

There are different types of scrubs depending upon one’s skin type. The common factor in scrubs is they contain an agent to exfoliate the skin & get rid of dead cells. Scrubs can be soothing and provide skin with a soft, healthy glow, but overdoing scrubs can be harmful to new skin. Moderation is important when it comes to using scrubs, and advises once every two weeks is often enough to get good results, as more frequent scrubbing can irritate the skin.

What does Oriflame Claim about this scrub: Exfoliates and conditions hands with almond shell powder and sweet almond oil.
How to use: Massage a small amount all over hands and then rinse off.

Oriflame Renewing Hand Scrub

Ingredients: AQUA, GLYCERIN, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS OIL, COCO-GLUCOSIDE, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, GLYCOL DISTEARATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, PARFUM, LAURETH-4, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, 2-BROMO-2-NITROPROPANE-1,3-DIOL

Price: Actual price Rs.279 for 75ml, offer price Rs.229

My Experience: The scrub comes in a brown colored tube with screw lid. The scrub smells somewhat like green sea weed which is manageable :-\ & has these small brown colored granules. I take a small amount of the scrub in my hand, add a few drops of water & gently glide the scrub from the fingers to the elbow & do light massage for a few minutes & then rinse it off. The scrub is effective in removing the dead cells & grime but leaves behind dryness & that’s the only thing that I don’t like about this scrub. Scrubs usually have an oil base which moisturises and soothes your skin as it is scrubbed. Though the company claims the product has sweet Almond oil, but I don’t see any nourishment, it just makes my hands dry after each scrub. So each time I scrub I make sure I moisturise my hands after the whole process. I’m more biased towards the foot scrub from the Oriflame range because I could see an instant change in the skin tone when I used the foot scrub whereas I don’t see the same effect with the hand scrub. Other than the drying part & no instant change in the skin tone, everything else about this scrub is good, it gently cleanses the skin to get rid of the dead skin & dirt.

Oriflame Renewing Hand Scrub

Pros of the Oriflame Renewing Hand Scrub

• Exfoliates the skin well to slough off the dead skin cells that accumulate on the skin.
• Has sweet Almond Oil which provides essential fatty acids that help to repair the moisture barrier of the skin, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness.
• It has the Almond shell granules which are not too large or abrasive.
• Rinses off easily, doesn’t leave any soapy cast.
• Doesn’t cause any irritation or discomfort.
• Travel-friendly tube, can be carried easily in a bag.
• A little goes a long way; you just need a pea-size amount to scrub.

Cons of the Oriflame Renewing Hand Scrub

• Not as moisturising as the foot scrub. This hand scrub makes the skin dry after scrubbing.
• Doesn’t improve skin tone unlike my foot scrub.

Will I repurchase this? Yes definitely when this product is on a discount, I can take care of the moisturizing part.

Will I recommend this? Yes.

I’ve ordered this for my sister. She is pursuing BDS and she urged me to get something for her hands, so that she can take care of them properly. I ordered this and hand masque too for her!! 🙂 🙂 Her hands and cuticles have really got damaged after handling all the dentist tools and carving stuffs… :thanks: for the review Uzma!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
