Oriflame Visions Eye Catching Eyeliner Pencil Review
I have never used glitter eyeliners and the EOTDs with glitter eyeliners I have seen on some blogs have made me squirm. So, what is that made me get one of these glittery pencils, the first thing was that I was intending to use these glitter pencils not strictly as eyeliners, but to slightly highlight the eyelids to bring a little sparkle and the second reason was that during sale, I was getting it at Rs. 49 and to let go off something as cheap as Rs. 49 seemed to be imprudent. So, I got myself three pencils from this range, Brown-Eyed Girl, Green Gaze, and Smokey Eyes.
Green Gaze is actually not completely green, it is bluish-green with golden glitter in it.
Brown-Eyed Girl is a rusted brown shade with gold glitter in it.
Smokey Eyes is a proper grey shade with glitter in it.
To note is the fact that the glitter in these liners is NOT OTT, it wouldn’t make you look kitschy.
A LITTLE ABOUT VISIONS EYE-CATCHING EYELINER PENCIL:
Eyeliner in three enticing colours, with a hint of gold glitter, to bring out the twinkle in your eye.
PRICE: Original price Rs. 149, but I got it during sale at Rs. 49 each for 1.4 g.
MY TAKE ON ORIFLAME EYECATCHING EYELINERS:
These pencils are slightly creamy in consistency and though the Green Gaze and Brown-Eyed Girl glided on smoothly to the lid, I had some problem with the Smokey Eye grey. It wouldn’t just glide on and I had to tug at it to get some of it on to my eyelid. The Green Gaze is slightly brighter than the other two, hence, I just did a little bit of highlighting with it and blended it at the corner of my eyes. Again, the glitter in these pencils is not OTT, they are just enough to make the eyes sparkle. The least favorite of mine is the Smokey Eyes grey one because it did nothing for my brown-black eyes. Staying power of these pencils is not remarkable, it would stay just about an hour or so and would leave just a hint of glitter behind. Anyways, I don’t use these pencils as eyeliner, so I don’t have a problem at all. Also, I don’t think these can be used in the waterline. They don’t sting or anything, but I don’t think anything with even a speck of glitter is suitable for lower lashes.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with these liners except for the grey one, but I heard in next month’s catalogue, they are introducing a newer and better version of sparkle eyeliners.
PROS OF ORIFLAME EYECATCHING EYELINERS:
- Creamy enough consistency required for a pencil.
- Adds a sparkle to the eyes if used for highlighting the lids.
- Does not sting the eyes.
- The glitter in these pencils is not OTT.
- Price is very reasonable.
CONS OF ORIFLAME EYE CATCHING EYELINERS:
- Cannot be used on the lower lash lines.
- The Smokey Eyes grey pencil is not creamier enough and you need to tug at it. Hence, the creamy consistency can vary from pencil to pencil.
- Available in limited shades.
IMBB STAR RATING: 3.5….-1/2 for the grey liner and -1 for the staying power of these liners.
WILL I PURCHASE IT AGAIN: There is charcoal and proper green glitter liners coming in the next catalogue, I am interested in those now.
