I hope you all are in the pink of your health. Did I say “Pink”? Oh my God, do you know there was a time, I went crazy searching for “mera wala pink”? Yeah literally!! If you are a lipstick hoarder like me, you know how suddenly one day we just make a new color in our imagination and start going crazy searching for that color. It happened with me when I wanted the “ideal pink lip color.” In advertisements, they show models sans makeup but with beautiful pink lips. I wished to have a lipstick in such a pink, so that on days when I want to look fresh but don’t want much makeup, I could apply that color to my lips and still look fresh. In search of that perfect pink, I bought somewhere around 2 or 3 pinks (yeah, we are never satisfied with just one ;)).  Here’s one pink that I am going to review today – it’s “Pink in the Afternoon” from Revlon’s Super Lustrous range.

Ingredients:

My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Pink In The Afternoon:

Packaging:  Pink In The Afternoon comes in a very classy black packaging like other super lustrous lipsticks, with a transparent top. The transparent top helps identify the color easily if you keep your lipsticks in a standing position. Else, the base also has the name of the color, which also helps in finding the color in case you have a big collection of lip colors. The outer covering has a golden band with Revlon written on it.  That makes it look luxurious as per me. I love the packaging. When brand new, it is sealed with plastic which needs to be opened in order to start using the color. That seal assures you that, you are buying a brand new piece.

Color:  The color could be MLBB color for many.  It is a very wearable light pink which will go well for fresh make up as well as with smokey looks.  The color is quite saturated and covers the lips in a maximum of two swipes.

Texture:  The texture is creamy and feels comfortable on the lips.  It’s not super hydrating though. It can accentuate any dry/chapped lips. So, you need to prepare your lips before using this.

Longevity:  It stays for 3.5 – 4 hours with light snacks in between, it will not survive a full meal.

Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Pink In The Afternoon:

• This color will suit most of the skin tones and will not wash out complexions.
• Good packaging.
• Affordable price.
• Feels light on the lips.
• Doesn’t have any remarkable smell.
• Average staying power.
• No bleeding or feathering.

Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Pink In The Afternoon:

• Doesn’t hydrate the lips.
• Accentuates dry and flaky lips.
• Availability in India (a few online sites sell this color).

Would I Repurchase Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Pink In The Afternoon?

Yes, I will, if I run out of stock of my ideal pinks.

4.5/5 (-.5 for not hydrating the lips much).

Conclusion – Every girl deserves to have a pink color in her kitty.

• If you are into bright colors, still you need a muted pink for days when you want to be natural, that’s when you need this kind of a pink.
• If you are shy, lip glossy kind of a person, you still need those baby pink lips for some days and I am sure you will be able to pull it off.
