This is my first lipstick review here. Today, I will be reviewing “Wild Orchid” lipstick from Revlon Super Lustrous Pearl range. I got this as a gift on my birthday (a bad one for me, read on for more). It comes in the usual Revlon packaging and the colour is a really bright violet pink. I usually wear lip gloss and lip pencils and lip liners more than lipsticks. So, this came as a surprise to me.
Find your lip colour amongst a dazzling array of 72 fabulous, fashionable shades!
- Exclusive LiquiSilk™ formula with mega-moisturizers seals in colour and softness.

- I didn’t find any description on the pack and my aunt lives in US so no clue about the exact price.

My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Wild Orchid:
Like I said, it’s an extreme bright violet pink and the colour is too bold for me to wear out because I usually do a nude or a light pink, brown or bronze lips. I always highlight my eye makeup more. That’s the reason I said it’s a bad one to be given as a gift, especially for people who are still starters in makeup like me. Since it’s a really pretty colour (not for me though), I try using it as a base pigment just to brighten my natural lip colour a bit and use a bronze lip colour over it.
It works really well for me this way and sometimes I use it as a blush to give a pink and violet glow when I do a green eye or blue. The claims of moisture and even colour are true though its staying power is very less and moisture dries after some time. The lipstick goes off as you eat or drink leaving its tint on the lips. It looks as if you have been biting your lips often which is really annoying and it has a horrible smell.
Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Wild Orchid:
- Excellent rich colour.
- Easy application.
- Pigmentation is very good.
- Looks glossy.
- Available easily.
- Full coverage almost.
Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Wild Orchid:
- Too bright a colour for me.
- Quite bold and cannot be worn on all occasions.
- Staying power is bad, needs touch ups often.
- Leaves a violet pink tint and dries out lips.
- Horrible smell.
- Wouldn’t suit all skin tones.
- Costly when you consider the number of cons.
