My Experience with Rimmel London BB Cream Radiance:
Be it minimal makeup or heavy makeup, my routine is never complete without a BB cream. Personally, I feel that a BB cream is much appropriate to use in day to day life. It is convenient, has a light layer and quite practical for reapplication. Well, moving on to today’s review, I am reviewing a beaming BB cream from Rimmel. Overall, Rimmel offers three variants of BB creams – Nude, Matte and Radiance, of which the latter two were introduced last spring. I have used Nivea, Maybelline and NYC in the past, and this time, I am here with Rimmel BB cream radiance in the shade ‘light’. To suit every skintone, Rimmel BB Cream Radiance comes in 4 shades – Very Light, Light, Medium and Medium/Dark. Light or medium would fit our Indian skin tones. This radiant BB cream comes in a pale orange 30 ml tube with a dark orange screw cap.
Comparatively, the cream is quite thick and is in a nice light cocoa shade. The product is marketed as 9 in 1 skin perfecting super makeup product. Before buying the product, I did test the shade and I found the consistency a little thick, like a foundation. However, I didn’t bat an eyelid as the shade suited my skin tone so well, and I am so glad I chose this cream. The cream comfortably sinks and properly blends into the skin to give the perfect finish. Additionally, it has SPF 20 protection! It feels quite light and gives a proper clean, neat and thin coverage. And that’s what I like about BB creams the most! This one is dainty, thin and supple – perfect for the office wear, a day out or even a party with heavy eye makeup.
And, yes, let’s talk about the 9 in 1 feature. Well, I am quite happy with the results as more or less, this product does capture all the 9 points to give the desired look. Yes, it does stage the skin for makeup, smoothens and works as a light primer. It beautifies the skin tone, provides natural coverage and moisturises well. And, as the main feature of a BB cream, it does conceal and helps to minimise the appearance of pores. Thankfully, I don’t have any spots on my face and so this helps me get a natural coverage. For beauties with spots or pimples, you may need a concealer as well.
It doesn’t dry out the skin nor does it give a dewy finish. I was a little concerned about the ‘Radiance’ feature as I thought it may give a glossy touch which may not look good for casual or office wear. But, I am glad, it doesn’t. Basically, it attempts brightening the skin, eases dullness, and gives a healthy glow. I feel that for regular use, a moisturiser and this BB cream are ideal. On the other hand, for beauties who like layering your skin, ‘only’ this product may not be an answer for all the skin queries. This works better in conjunction with other products like a primer, concealer, pressed powder and others. It’s always advisable to wear other matte products to balance this out as it leaves the skin with a slight shine.
