Skin Tone: Medium Tanned
In this post, I am going to share my views on Sephora Collection Rouge Matte Lipstick in the shade “M16 party Girl.” This is actually my first lipstick from the collection of Sephora and I was really excited to try it. Now, read on to know how it fared on my lips.
This ultra-matte lipstick delivers bold colour, intense moisture and incredible comfort. Enriched with shea butter and rich emollients, the formula moisturizes and soothes lips, while depositing super matte colour and blurring lip imperfections. And unlike some matte lipsticks, this one never feels cakey or dry on your lips.

My Experience with Sephora Collection Rouge Matte Lipstick M16 Party Girl:
Packaging: This Rouge Matte lipstick comes in a velvety black tube with a black cap that makes it easy to identify the shade. It’s a very simple sleek packaging but there is no shade name mentioned on the tube. They have mentioned all the information on the wrapped plastic. There’s only a color-coded mark on the back of the tube which helps to identify the shade. Otherwise, it is pretty travel-friendly tube.
Shade: Currently, I am in love with red lip colors, so I picked this beautiful and bright shade called “Party Girl” from Sephora’s Rouge collection. Like its name, it’s a pretty reddish-pink color that is perfect for parties and it looks beautiful on all skin tones. It has a neutral undertone and it instantly brightens up my face. The shade is not much pigmented and I have to apply lots of coats to get the true color on to the lips. It doesn’t hide dark and pigmented lips properly.
Texture: This lipstick has a smooth and soft texture that glides well on the lips and the formula is extremely light, feels like nothing on the lips. It doesn’t feel patchy or dry at all, feels a bit waxy, though quite comfortable on lips. Its smooth formula provides beautiful, powder matte finish. Apart from its matte texture, it does provide decent hydration to lips, but it doesn’t provide enough hydration to dry lips. It has a mild smell.
This lipstick needs a few minutes to settle down into that perfect matte texture and after that, it doesn’t transfer much. The consistency is sheer, so as the time passes, it starts to look a bit faded. Now, this lipstick slightly clings on to dry patches, so it’s better to prep your lips before the application, but it doesn’t settle into fine lines. The color does feel a bit dry after a couple of hours. I always have to use a lip balm to get back the hydration.
Staying Power: This lipstick lasts well around 5 hours without any meal and it does survive normal food, but it doesn’t survive heavy lunch meal, and needs reapplication. It’s easy to reapply the color, you can just use a wet makeup remover wipe to take it off.
Overall, “Party Girl” is a beautiful shade and the formula is light, feels so good and comfortable, but I wish it had better pigmentation and lasting power too. As the price of this lipstick is above 1000 INR, I wish it had better qualities.
