St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Gel Cleanser
Hello everyone!

Hope you are enjoying your day! Today I am reviewing a gel cleanser from one of my favorite brands – St. Ives. This is the Blemish Control Green Tea Gel Cleanser which is a part of their ‘Naturally Clear’ line.
A brief description of this line from the St. Ives site:

Goodbye Blemishes. Fight blemishes and breakouts with the power of nature. St. Ives Naturally Clear products gently help prevent and treat breakouts with ingredients from nature – and give you the confidence that comes along with having naturally clear skin.
Product Description:
This cleanser deep cleans to gently remove dirt and make-up to clear breakouts and calm redness.
Key Ingredients:
Oil Free – 2% Salicylic Acid and 100% Natural Green Tea Extracts
Price: CAD $5.49 for 200 ml. Price varies across stores
Application:
Wet face. Apply a generous amount of product over face and neck with fingertips. Rinse with water. Use twice daily for best results.
My experience with St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Gel Cleanser:
I have extremely oily skin. It is really bad in the summer! I was looking for a face wash which could help me with controlling the oiliness. When I saw this green tea gel cleanser from St. Ives, I was really happy to pick it up!
As with the other face washes from St. Ives, this face wash too comes with a pump dispenser, which makes it very convenient for a lazy person like me! One pump dispenses enough of the product to cover up the entire face. The pump dispenser, of course, makes it not a suitable option to carry with you when you travel.
The texture of this cleanser feels very light and non-sticky. Though it is described as a gel cleanser, it is not actually a thick gel. It is just like any other liquid face wash. It is not too runny either. It foams well enough.
The color of this cleanser is a really pale green. It has a prominent smell of green tea! I just love the fresh smell.
My skin feels really clean and oil-free after I use this. It does not dry out my skin completely to the extent of dry patches appearing on my face. But it cleans well enough to make the skin look and feel oil free. This may not suit people with dry skin, as it can make the skin drier.
This face cleanser contains 2% Salicylic Acid which helps with my acne. Of course, this cleanser does not prevent me from getting acne, as I get them due to some hormonal issues, but it does a good job of drying the pimples faster and helping to clear my skin. My pores also look minimized with this. I just love it!
Pros of St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Gel Cleanser:
Cleans skin well without drying it out
Minimizes the appearance of pores
Pump dispenser for ease of use and hygiene
Paraben Free
Hypoallergenic
Oil free and dermatologically tested
100% Natural Extracts – Green Tea
Helps clear acne quicker
Cons of St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Gel Cleanser:
Will not suit dry skinned beauties
Not travel friendly
May not be available in India yet
Recommendation:
Definitely. This is a great option for people with oily skin. It is difficult to find cleansers which clear oiliness without drying out the skin completely. This one does a good job! Do try it!

No problem calicoaster! Thank you 🙂
concerning the St. Ives green tea cleanser, it sounds great as i have oily skin. but the Salicylic acid of 2%, i usually have crazy breakouts when i use any product with this ingredient. the products i used however had a higher percentage of this acid.Do i recommend that i can still use this product? *scared* your thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hey Dana, Sorry to hear about your breakouts due to salicylic acid. *shock* As for me, I have never got any breakouts due to this product or with any other product with salicylic acid. In fact, it helps dry out my hormonal acne faster. I really am not sure if 2% might be enough to break you out. But I guess it is better not to take the chance with this. I will let you know if I come across something else without salicylic acid which suits my oily skin. *puchhi*
