About The Product:
An oil-free, lightweight, water-based blush in an exclusive netted pot delivery system.

What it does:
Bring a sheer wash of color to the cheeks while creating a rejuvenated effect. This gel formula cools upon contact and blends seamlessly to create a luminous, healthy-looking glow. The exclusive, mesh-touch color dispenser delivers a single flush of color each time, and its luminous finish provides a fresh glow to the skin. The water-based formula goes on crystal clear, allowing the pure pigments and pearls to be dispersed evenly and blend in seamlessly, giving the skin a fresh, smooth, and supple appearance.

My Experience with Stila Shimmering Lotus Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush:

Packaging:
This Watercolor Blush comes in a tiny pot with a screw lid. Inside, the product is separate with a mesh and you use your finger or a brush in it to get some product onto the applicator. Overall, the product is pretty user friendly though I will not consider this the most travel friendly packaging.

Texture/Consistency:
True to the name, this is a very thin, watery-gel consistency blush. It is not runny. The consistency is in between a traditional cream blush which is emollient and creamy and a liquid watery blush (for example -Benetint).

Application:
I do find this blush very easy to apply. I prefer using just my fingertips and I feel that gives me the most concentrated color. Using a brush or a sponge might soak more product and with it you also run the risk of disturbing your base foundation.

Shade/Finish/Feel on Skin:
The shade “Shimmering Lotus” is beautiful coral-orange with a lot of shimmer particles. Though both of the shades I own which is this and Water Lily (review coming soon) contain shimmer, this particular shade also contains particles of glitter. Though I am usually not a fan of product which contain chunky, visible glitter I will make an exception is this case and the shimmer actually complements the dewy glowy finish of the blush. You will be able to detect the shimmer/glitter particles on your skin, especially if you stand in direct light.

The shimmer particles do spread evenly and do not bunch nor do they slide all over the face. When I wore this blush, my husband actually complimented me on how glowy and fresh I looked. The finish of this blush is very glowy and dewy. Since this is a water based blush, it feels very lightweight on the skin. There is a slight bit of tackiness during the initial 1-2 hours of wear, but it is not bothersome and is hardly noticeable. This blush feels very hydrating on my dry skin. It did not cling to my dry patches nor settled in or accentuated my pores.

Pigmentation:
This blush is very sheer, but I wouldn’t call it poor pigmentation. This particular shade is the lightest of all the shades in this range, hence it does take about 2 layers for it to show up on my skin. Even after two layers, I apply some concentrating on the apples of my cheeks to get more color.

This blush retains sort of a translucency on the skin hence it looks very natural which makes it an ideal product to use for a no-makeup makeup look.

Staying Power:
This blush actually has good staying power for a water based blush. My cheeks had a good amount of color for 4-5 hours after which I noticed that it started to fade, but the color was still visible by 6 hour mark.

Stila Shimmering Lotus Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush Review7

This blush held up on my skin quite nicely even during these super-hot, summer weather and I frankly preferred the lightweight feeling of this product over all other crème blushes I own. Overall I am pretty impressed with these blushes and will recommend these to all those who love a glowy/dewy look with a lightweight feel. But if you not a fan of shimmer in your product or for those who have oily skin, you should steer clear of this product.
