My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Never Say Dry Creme Lipstick 01 Subtle Island:

Packaging: Like their previous Vivid Lipstick range, this Never Say Dry Creme Lipstick comes in a beautiful black square tube with the name printed on it. They also provided an outer box that contains some information about the lipstick. I love this matte black tube but as it is a different range, so they could have done something new. Just because all these lipsticks look similar, it is difficult to identify easily. Otherwise, the quality of the packaging is so nice and totally travel-friendly as well. Also, it is quite an affordable lipstick with good quality.

Shade: In this range, they offer 5 beautiful shades and I like the variety of shades. The shade Subtle Island is a gorgeous peachy pink shade with a hint of mauve tone in it. Such natural nude shade is perfect for fair to medium skin tones. I love this beautiful shade on me and it is a beautiful daily wear MLBB shade as well. But it might washout deeper skin tones. Now, the shade is super pigmented as well which requires only one- two swipes to get the perfect color pay off. It occupies my lips so well and can hide pigmented lips perfectly.

Texture and Quality: The name already described that it is a creamy lipstick, so it has a super soft smooth creamy texture that glides effortlessly and evenly occupies my lips. It feels very light and comfortable as well. I really like this formula. It is not a heavy creamy lipstick and it has that perfect balanced formula with a nice glossy tint in it. It is actually a super moisturizing lipstick that provides a boost of nourishment to lips. It provides a great relief to dry lips and can hide chapped rough texture as well. It settles down into a flawless smooth creamy texture that keeps lips soft throughout the day. Hence, the formula doesn’t feel patchy. It has a mild smell like their previous range which doesn’t bother me.

Now, due to its creamy formula, it does transfer a lot which is a pretty common issue with a creamy lipstick. It slightly looks smudged by the end of the day, I mean the lip line looked a little uneven. Otherwise, it never settles into the fine lines or creases at all.

Staying Power: Without any meal, it stays for around 5 hours nicely but after having a full meal, it looks faded a lot and needs a reapplication. Otherwise, with normal snacks or coffee, it lasts quite good. Reapplication is also quite easy, so I never mind to reapply it. It never looks patchy with layers. Hence, it is easy to remove with a wipe without leaving any stain behind it.

Overall: Winter is coming soon and it’s a beautiful creamy lipstick for that. I love this particular natural peachy mauve shade for me.
