Today, I have a blush for you all which is a shade from the very famous “Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush” range from Tarte. I wanted to try a blush from this range for so long, but don’t know what was holding me back. Finally, I picked up the shade “Glisten” from the range.

My Experience with Tarte Glisten Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush:

Packaging: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Glisten comes in a round pan. The pan is really sturdy, closes with a satisfying click, and has a mirror for the touch-ups. The beautiful embossed pattern makes it look even more pretty. The outer packaging matches the shade of the blush which makes it really easy to locate in a stash.

Shade: Tarte describes “Glisten” as a shimmering peachy pink which is an apt description of the shade. However, on me, it is more peach than pink. The shimmer is very pronounced. Though it is not chunky or gritty, and very subtle in the pan, but shows up very well on the skin as a golden sheen. In fact, on my medium deep skin tone, the color is not much visible, I have to build it up, but layering the product means adding more shimmer and one may end up looking like a disco ball, at least I do.

It is also known as the dupe of the very popular NARS Orgasm blush. But I do not own the NARs one, so I really cannot say if this is true or not. But yes, it is definitely cheaper than NARS Orgasm 😉

Pigmentation/Staying Power: The pigmentation is good, but I feel that this shade would suit fair to medium skin tones since the peachy-pink color would be visible on such complexions (not just the shimmer) and that too, with a light hand. On me, as I have mentioned, I have to go over a couple of times to make the color show, but in the process, it becomes too shimmery. The product is packed nicely in the pan and gets picked up by any and every brush with very little fallout. Though it feels powdery in the pan, it blends seamlessly when applied. It just glides on the skin.

I was skeptical when I used it since I believed that Amazonian Clay was supposed to be good for oily skin, but it does well on my dry skin too. It does not highlight any dry patches nor does it emphasize my pores despite the shimmer. Also, one can totally skip the highlighter with this product.

The staying power is good too. With a single swipe, it stayed well on me and I noticed some fading after 5 hours or so, but the product pretty much stayed on till the end of the day. And with a primer underneath, I have tested it for around 11 hours and it held the ground pretty well. 🙂

Overall, I really liked the product, only if the shade would have worked for me! 🙁 This shade did not work for me, but I liked the formula and am surely gonna get it in some other shades. 🙂
