Hello lovely ladies,

Hope you all are gearing up well for Valentine’s day. Today, I am going to review one of the shower gels from The Body Shop. Read on to find out how The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel fared for me.

Price: $15.95 AUD for 250ml
Product Description:
This shower gel will gently cleanse and fragrance your skin with the green freshness of grape leaf, juicy-milky fig notes and comforting woody facets.
• Green, juicy fragrance
• Refreshing and cleansing
• Soap-free
• Layer with other products in the Italian Summer Fig range to build the fragrance

Ingredients:
Aqua/Water (Solvent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Controlling Agent), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifying Agent), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance Ingredient), Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Mel/Honey (Humectant), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone (Fragrance Ingredient), Ficus Carica Fruit Extract/Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract (Humectant), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative).

My Experience with The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel:

The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel mainly caught my eye because of its beautiful packaging. The product comes in a long white plastic bottle. The bottle has a black and white floral design in the centre; this design is specific to the ‘Italian Summer Fig’ collection. We can dispense the product by gently pushing the cap down; this mechanism is different from other TBS shower gel bottles. The Body Shop has entirely changed the packaging for this range.

This product is made from hand picked figs from Italy. Thus, I would say that it smells like fresh figs. It smells more like a spinach juice. I get a green smell in my shower cubicle whenever I use this gel. I am not a big fan of this smell. It may be suitable for someone who likes such nutritive green scents. The consistency of the gel is creamy and semi thick. It is the correct texture for a shower gel and looks like a clear gel.

I use it with a body loofah and it lathers up very well even though it is soap free. A tiny amount of the gel is enough for the entire body. It makes the skin soft and makes me feel clean and refreshed. Thus I will say that it is a good shower gel that does its job well. It is suitable for all skin types, but I am not a huge fan of the smell. I would have loved it had it smelt like cupcakes.

Pros of The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel:

• Creamy consistency
• Does not dry out the skin
• Beautiful packaging
• Long lasting

Cons of The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel:

• Green fig smell
