Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20

Hi Dearies,

Today, I am reviewing my new tinted moisturiser from Urban Decay, “Urban Defense Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 20.”

What Urban Decay Claims about Urban Defense Tinted Moisturiser:

UD Bulletproof

Urban Defense battles free radical damage and arms you with moisture, sheer coverage and SPF 20 in a squeeze tube. A must if you crave a bare, dewy look.  Who says you can’t achieve a luminous, even-toned complexion without full-on foundation? Urban Defense gives you the sort of dewy radiance that usually only comes from a tryst in Fiji. The light-diffusing pigments in this wonder product diffuse the look of fines lines and wrinkles for a natural, youthful finish, while the buildable coverage it offers lets you wear it alone (great for warm weather) or under powder for a more polished look. This paraben and fragrance-free tinted moisturizer contains SPF 20, as well as a multi-mineral complex that battles free radical damage.

Packaging and Price:

As shown in the snap, I bought the one with old packaging.  Right now, its available in a tube.  I have the pump dispenser one 🙂

Shelf Life:

6 months.

Full Weight: 50ml e 1.69 fl oz.  Comes with a price tag of 30$.  It is available in four shades.

UD Bulletproof

I selected the shade “Bulletproof” as I am medium toned (NC 30-NC 35).  I have read so many reviews about the “Bulletproof” shade as the light medium one.  So, I got this shade.

My Views on Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20:

This is a lightweight tinted moisturiser which evens out the skin tone. It has a dewy finish.  I didn’t notice any fragrance, it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.  Also, I noticed that my face evened out after application. I think this can be worn alone too if you like it that way.  Its very good to be worn to the office where you need very little makeup.  I really like the shade Bulletproof.  Although, its a medium shade, I like it.

Now, Urban Decay have changed the packaging, but when I ordered it online, I was given the one with old packaging.  I was surprised to see this packaging, but when I searched online, I found that this was the first packaging and later on they changed it, so I was relaxed.

Also, talking about the pump dispenser.  Its not like other pump dispensers.  I hate it because it dispenses too much product in one go.

This product gives a flawless finish and its very natural too 🙂  It doesn’t make my face greasy and it dries out very soon:)

After applying this, I dust my face with translucent powder to set.  To my wonder, it nearly lasted for 6-7 hours on my face which I really liked.

But one thing I noted is the limited shade range.  If you are in the NC30-40 range, I think “Bulletproof” will suit you more than “Bodyguard.”  Bodyguard shade is for people in the NC-25 range.

Halo is the lightest shade.  I have included picture of all the shades to give you all a better idea about the shades. This  product is too pricey.

Pros of Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20:

  • Lightweight and natural tinted moisturiser.
  • Doesn’t irritate my skin.
  • Lasts for 6-7 hours after application.
  • Can be worn instead of a foundation.
  • Doesn’t make my face greasy.
  • Easy to blend and apply (I used my Sigma Synthetic Kabuki F80).
  • Cruelty free.
  • Full list of ingredients mentioned.
  • Does not contain parabens.
  • Shelf life of 6 months.

Cons of Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20:

  • Nonavailability in India.
  • Too pricey.
  • Limited shade range.
  • The pump dispenser is not good (dispenses too much product).  Now, Urban Decay has changed the packaging to tube which is good.  I bought this online from Debenhams, I was given an old one. Later, I found the one with new packaging on their website.

Overall, I liked the product.
