Victoria’s Secret Fantasies Moonlight Dream Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream Review

Ola bonita chica’s!

Does anyone feel pangs of jealousy when you see an angel? One of the Victoria’s Secret angels I mean! Even though I am possibly two angels combined in one, I can offer you an easy way to smell just as good as any sized angel alive.

This is a glorious smelling 200 ml of product all pumped into a beautiful looking purple and blue upside down tube with a huge orchid printed on it. The feminine gold font boldly displays all details on the front and back of the plastic tube and matches with the pearly golden flip top lid on the bottom perfectly. Moonlight Dream is described as a fragrance filled with honeysuckle and aquatic orchid- a seductive and warm fragrance. The cream itself is thicker than your average Vaseline lotion for example but isn’t as solid as like a body shop butter for example. This particular cream is very light lavender in colour.

Price:

USD 14 for 200 ml/6.7 FL OZ but I have never bought a Victoria’s Secret anything on full price. Their twice annual sale sells 7 for USD 35 for all their lotions, potions, shower gels etc. That’s $5 a piece!

My experience with the Victoria’s Secret Fantasies- Moonlight Dream Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream:

I have plenty of Victoria Secret lotions that I love to slather on after a shower but this was my first ‘ultra moisturizing’ hand and body cream and I’m glad I purchased this! The packaging was pretty attractive in itself; I don’t know how anyone can resist these delectable packaged delights from Victoria’s Secret. I mean I know these are available online all over the world, but the whole experience in buying something from Victoria’s Secret comes only in store, from the way everything is arranged, the testers you can go wild with, to the pink paper they stuff in your shopping bag once you’re done. I’ve re-purposed those and their shopping bags so many times! I really had to hone in all my senses to pick this up in store, it is one of those stores I get so distracted in! Kid in a candy store much?

Like I said, the consistency of this cream is thicker than their average lotions but not as thick as body butter. I have dry skin that you could scratch your name on and this cream has been a boon! It’s non sticky unlike most ultra moisturizing lotions. When I compare it to a Body Shop Body Butter, that takes around 10 minutes to completely absorb into my skin and I can’t do things like use the remote or use my touch phone when that I put that on because I’ll make everything a bit sticky or greasy. This is so surprisingly different, it absorbed into my skin within a minute and wasn’t greasy at all. So you’ll find that you won’t get any oily fingerprints on your mobile screen immediately after an application.

The fragrance is so luxurious, and I find when I wear it just a whiff of the scent lingers. One teaspoon full of application can easily cover both my arms and it feels like a proper layer of moisturization locked in. The word ‘cream’ is appropriate as that is the feel of it, as opposed to a liquid-y hydrating formula. This doesn’t make my skin ‘softer’ in the true sense of the word, which isn’t a bad thing; my skin feels healthy and plump after I apply this. I do feel that a post shower application makes me feel like I’ve locked moisture in. But if I sweat afterwards this does give me a greasy feel on my skin, especially any area around my brassiere band or underarm area. An air conditioned room or aircraft cabin does all the wrong things for my skin but with this cream I’ve never felt a need to reapply the whole day long, it really lasts! If you get water or soap on, then you do need to reapply because it washes off through that.

My mother has honeysuckle in her balcony garden growing as a small vine and their flowers have the most intense fragrance which I feel Victoria’s secret correctly suppressed in this formula. That smell doesn’t digest well with me but this cream like I said is but a whiff of that intense flower. This formula also has avocado oil, almond oil and honey all of which adds to that really supple, rich and moisturised feeling that an application gives you. For a more intense smell Victoria’s secret suggests using the shower gel and body mist of the same fragrance to layer that smell.

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Fantasies Moonlight Dream Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream:

  • Pretty packaging
  • Lasts long
  • Very moisturizing
  • Made in the USA- not China!

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Fantasies Moonlight Dream Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream:

  • Parabens in the formulation
  • No expiry date printed on product
  • Available only online in India- pray with me now sisters *Victoria’s Secret open up in India!*

Would I repurchase or recommend the Victoria’s Secret Fantasies- Moonlight Dream Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream?

I would have done both, till I noted the words Methylparaben and Propylparaben on the ingredients. Therefore, sadly I won’t be purchasing any more of the same formulation and neither can I recommend them although the fragrance is beautiful and not over powering at all!

IMBB Rating:

2/5 (Solely because of the parabens in the product, it’s such a real rich cream otherwise!)
