Summers are here and the weather is sweltering outside. I am stocking up products to combat the harmful effects that come with sun exposure. One thing that needs no introduction is a good sunscreen. A good sunscreen goes a long way in ensuring that your skin does not get sunburnt. Personally, I am not a big fan of sunscreens because most of them are very heavy on the skin and makes me sweat a lot. I always look for lightweight gel-based ones. VLCC has launched a gel-based sunscreen, Radiance Pro SPF 30 PA+++ Sun Screen Gel. It claims to provide broad-spectrum sun protection and a healthy glow to the skin. Its gel-based formulation caught my attention, so I went ahead and purchased it. Read further to know how it worked for me.

My Experience with VLCC Radiance Pro Sun Screen Gel SPF 30 PA +++:
Packaging:
This VLCC sunscreen comes inside a bright canary yellow coloured tube that has a gloss finish. This type of packaging is similar to other sunscreens from VLCC. The tube has a bright orange flip-open cap. The tube dispenses the right amount of product and hence prevents unwanted product wastage.
The cap shuts with an audible click and closes securely in place. The brand name, product features, description and the ingredient list are clearly mentioned on the body of the tube. The tube is medium in size, so you can carry it around with ease for travel purposes. Overall, the packaging is decent and sturdy.
Product Colour and Fragrance:
The color of this sunscreen is transparent white as it is gel-based. Fragrance wise, it is scented but the odour is mild. This sunscreen is enriched with grapes and saxifrage extracts, which give it a pleasant fragrance. The fragrance will not be overpowering and after you have applied the product, it stays for about 15-20 minutes after which it goes away. The best part of this sunscreen is that is free from the harmful effect of parabens.
Consistency and Texture:
Being a gel based sunscreen the consistency is neither very thick nor very runny. It somewhat has a lotion kind of consistency. It is very lightweight and apt for the summer season usage. Especially, the humidity of the summer season makes us sweat a lot and that necessitates the use of a sunscreen which will not feel heavy on the skin. That’s the reason I usually prefer gel-based sunscreens because they won’t feel oily and at the same time would provide good protection from the harmful UV rays.
How I Use it:
Generally, for any sunscreen to give the best results, it must be applied about 10-15 minutes before you step out in the sun. I follow the same procedure. I take a pea-sized quantity of this sunscreen and apply it to face, hands and neck. After applying it, I just massage it gently in circular motions so that the product gets absorbed completely. It spreads effortlessly on the skin and gets absorbed really fast. It feels so comfortable on the skin as if you are not wearing any sunscreen at all.
On summer days, I simply use this sunscreen and then I am good to go. I don’t even need to use a compact with this. Even though this sunscreen does not need the application of a setting powder, still if you want you can dab some loose powder, it is perfectly okay. If you are wearing this sunscreen alongside your favourite foundation or mousse, this sunscreen acts as a good base for your makeup.
Results:
Depending on the duration of sun exposure and the climate outside, you choose the SPF value of the sunscreen. I usually stay outdoors for about 3-4 hours every day, so SPF 30 PA+++ works fine for me. If you stay for a longer period outside where your face gets more exposed to the sun, I would recommend that you use a sunscreen which gives higher protection.
It provides a matte finish to my face without making it feel dry. This sunscreen provides good protection from the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun. It has worked well on my skin. There is no hint of stickiness, no itching, no tanning and no redness after using this. My skin did not experience any breakouts post application.
It keeps my dry skin hydrated without making it greasy and enhances my skin’s glow without making it oily. My skin feels so soft and supple once this sunscreen gets completely absorbed. My face looks radiant and healthy too. Its gel-based formula prevents excessive sweating as well.

This lightweight sunscreen can be used on a daily basis and it feels very soothing on my skin. It is perfect for everyday use where you spend less time in the sun.
