Wet n Wild High-Pitched Wine MegaLast Liquid Lip Color Review

Skin Tone: Medium Olive

Hello, beauties!

I have recently fallen in love with liquid lipsticks, and I can’t control myself from picking up more mauve shades. Today’s review is again about a gorgeous mauve shade from Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color range. Let’s get into the review.

Wet n Wild High-Pitched Wine MegaLast Liquid Lip Color Review

Price: $2.99 for 6.8ml
Product Description:
We all hate it when we’re trying to eat, drink, or (shh…) kiss, and whatever (or whoever) the recipient of our lips ends up looking like a 5 year-old’s finger painting (because of the dreaded “lipstick transfer”). Problem solved! These intense liquid lip colors are completely transfer-proof and last up to 8 hours – while moisturizing! How? Our exclusive ElastiSilk™ technology combines flexible color and silky pigments that move with your lips. This amazing formula is also paraben-free and includes a built-in moisturizer with vitamin E and a native essence extract that promotes anti-aging, restores skin protectors, improves lip metabolism, and balances lips’ natural hydration. Who knew a lip color could do all that?

Wet n Wild High-Pitched Wine MegaLast Liquid Lip Color Ingredients

My Experience with Wet n Wild High-Pitched Wine MegaLast Liquid Lip Color:

Packaging:
The lip color comes in a very simple, color-coded tube with a black cap. The product never leaks and it is very easy to carry around. The shade name is indicated at the bottom of the tube. It comes with a nice applicator that spreads the color evenly on my lips. These are decently priced as they are matte lip creams.

Shade and Pigmentation:
I picked up the shade ‘High Pitched Wine’ and it’s a very pretty mauve shade for all skin tones. It has a dusky undertone and it is a nice MLBB shade for dusky beauties. On my tanned skin tone, it looks so pretty and it has that earthy pink touch to it, which makes the color more gorgeous. But, I don’t know why, it’s named ‘Wine’. I really couldn’t find any wine color in it. It doesn’t have any shimmers. It goes well with any makeup look and it is a beautiful daily wear shade. The shade is well-pigmented.

Texture and Quality:
This lip color has a medium consistency that glides smoothly on the lips and the texture spreads evenly on the lips. But, it dries out too soon, making the layering of product quite difficult. Layering makes it look too patchy and it feels so heavy on the lips. I cannot layer this lip color too much. Also, it is a little difficult to draw a perfect lip line in one go. This lipstick is super sticky in nature; it sticks just like a gum on the lips. Like, if I press my lips together, the color gets peeled off in patches. Hence, the overall application looks horrible. So, I need to wait for the lip color to dry out completely. The product takes around a minute to settle down but even then it remains sticky.

Now, the most irritating part: there is no moisture in this lipstick. It feels so dry on the lips; and, in fact, makes my lips more dry with time. The product highlights all the flaws and even chapped lips. It feels really uncomfortable on the lips and even bleeds from the lips lines. Never go for this formula if you have naturally dry lips as even a lip balm underneath it won’t prevent further dryness.

The formula feels a little better only if I top this with a lip gloss. I always have to apply a lip balm underneath and a lip gloss over it to make the formula work. But, that’s a long, inconvenient process. I can’t even eat properly when I have this lipstick on. It is a totally transfer-proof lipstick that doesn’t settle into the lip lines and doesn’t stain the lips.

Staying Power:
The staying power is decent if I do not eat anything. But, it moves from the centre of my lips, and that too unevenly, by the end of the day. After a meal, it looks so uneven and the color peels from here and there. Also, oily food makes it patchy. It looks so patchy and bad after a meal that I cannot do any touch-ups. I need to remove this product completely from my lips, which is also a difficult process as an oil-based remover is must.

Overall:
I love this shade, but I just hate the quality of this lip color. It is way too patchy and sticky.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Wet n Wild High-Pitched Wine MegaLast Liquid Lip Color?
Not to both. I love a few more shades from this range but I won’t buy them as the quality of these lip colors is poor.
