IMBB is one of the reasons I decided to think beyond black eyeliners. I bought my first purple eyeliner recently and today’s review is all about Yves Rocher Electric Violet Eye Pencil. Read on to know more about it.

Product Description:
Eye Pencils for a 2-in-1 makeup: eye shadow and liner. The Eye Pencil could be used as an eye shadow or to underline the eyes. A sparkly or pearly effect, it is up to you to choose the finishing touch to your makeup!
My Experience with Yves Rocher Eye Pencil Electric Violet:
The product is a jumbo pencil. It comes in a sealed package. The color of the pencil is made to match the shade it houses. The pencil has basic information on the pencil. This eye pencil has a transparent cap that fits perfectly. It is not tight but is neither flimsy. It doesn’t come with a sharpener so you need to have a jumbo sharpener.
The eye pencil is purple and has tiny shimmery particles in it. The pencil is creamy and very smooth. It glides easily without any tugging and goes on like a dream. The particles do not irritate the eyes. I have used it on the waterline too and did not have any issues.
“Electric Violet” is a beautiful purple shade which is not very bright and dark. It has tiny gold particles that add a metallic effect to the eyeliner, but these particles do go all over the place if you rub it. The color cannot be built to intensify the shade. The jumbo pencil cannot be used to create thin lines. The shade is lightly pigmented and with just one glide, the color sits perfectly. However, the shade is light and not bright as one expects and I wish it was a little darker.
This eye pencil is a 2-in-1 product and it acts as eyeliner and eyeshadow both. The color, since it is creamy, can be used to create smokey eye look. The product is great as an eyeshadow. The low pigmentation makes it easier as a base for creating colorful eye makeup. There is no need to add much pressure while creating lines.
The staying power is great and the product stays on my lids for 4-6 hours with or without a primer. However, it starts to fade after 4 hours and after 6 to 8 hours, the color starts to fade. The glitter particles present in the liner tends to settle and spread everywhere. The product can be removed with a makeup remover, but the glitter particles can be tough to remove and has to be rinsed off. The product is waterproof and doesn’t wash off during rains! I didn’t find the ingredients list and this is weird but Yves Rocher has natural ingredients and I believe this is product too contain natural ingredients.

- Can be used to create smokey look easily.
- Waterproof.
- No fragrance.
Cons of Yves Rocher Eye Pencil Electric Violet:
- The glitter particles can spread everywhere.
- The shade is not very pigmented and cannot be built up.
- Expensive.
- Needs a special sharpener.

I would definitely recommend the product, but might not repurchase it again and again.
