The Body Shop Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm Plum

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post for IMBB and I am very excited! Today, I will be doing a review on The Body Shop Born Lippy Plum Lip Balm.

The Body Shop Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm Plum

Price:

It is priced at Rs. 345 for a net quantity of 5 gm and available at all Body Shop outlets.

So, as always, whenever I go to malls, I make it a point to do at least a little bit of makeup shopping (yes, I am a big makeup addict now 😛 ). So, I just checked out the TBS outlet.

As soon as I entered the shop, I was getting a strong plummy smell. Me and my friend were hunting for the source of that awesome fruity delicious smell and finally reached the “Born Lippy” section.  We instantly became busy trying the testers and literally stood still for 5 minutes enjoying the scented balms.  Just one word to describe them – “heavenly.”

Born Lippy

So, I picked this particular balm because it added a pinky tint on to my lips.  The size of it is quite similar to the Nivea lip balms that are available in the market, but TBS lip balm when compared with Nivea lip balm, is much better of course because it is a luxury brand.  Moreover, you get 1 gm extra product compared to the Nivea lip balms.

The packaging reminds me of those speech bubbles in comic books. The word “wow” is written on the cover in a very creative and attractive way.  The cap is also partly (rather 80%) transparent, hence you can see the lip balm “bullet.” The colour is also very nice, neither pink nor red, but a perfect plummy shade or you can rather relate it with black currant ice cream , hence edible :D.

Born Lippy

Yes, it even tastes yummy, trust me!  I kept licking my lips for a while, but tried my best to control it. This lip balm tastes very sweet

Born Lippy

Coming to the staying power, it’s even better than the Nivea lip balm. I tested it to make a comparison. I applied it at 11.30 AM and it stayed up to 4 PM, isn’t that awesome?

Now, coming to the good and bad features of it, all I can say are:

Good Points of The Body Shop Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm Plum:

  • You get sufficient quantity (5 gm) of the product without getting any pinch in your pocket.
  • Tastes yummy, smells yummy, and looks yummy 😀
  • Its very lightweight, so its very handy. Fits inside the pocket of your jeans.
  • TBS products are not tested on animals, they are cruelty free.
  • Lasts for a pretty decent time (say 3 to 4 hours easily).
  • This particular shade adds nice pinky tint to the lips which even shows well on pigmented lips!

Not-So-Good Points about The Body Shop Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm Plum:

  • There’s nothing mentioned about any SPF content as well as shelf life.
  • Can’t think of anything further, but yes, keep it out of childrens’ reach because they might eat it up as it smells and tastes like a candy 😀
  • You will get badly addicted to these lip balms !!!! :))

I hope you all liked my delectable review.

IMBB Rating:

I will give it 4.9/5

Take care everyone.

Here’s a smokey eye look I tried inspired by Rati 🙂

like I wont prefer to buy Skin care from MAC 😀
I have heard nice revus abt TBS makeup, but honestly i would rather pick Bourjois, chambor 🙂

            1. thing is i need to spend the gift voucher and I am a little scared to keep trying diff skincare products no matter how tempting it is..i love TBS clay mask and the toner. the face wash i am not too sure abt becos olay is working fine as of now for me..mybe i’ll go into the store and then indulge on items i dont normally wud.i am quite excited abt what I might pickup..

  2. Lovely and this balm is sooo tempting! I badly wanted to pick up Maybelline’s tinted lip balm but it seems to be discontinued or something! It’s not available anywhere :waaa: :waaa: :waaa:
Ended up buying LipIce Strawberry. SPF is a major source of concern for me so I guess I’ll skip this 🙂

  3. bidisha, welcome to imbb. It’s a great color. I have the one in pink and honestly it does not show any color on my lips. And you did a great job with smokey eyes. :)) Keep up the good work. 🙂
