Lotus Herbals Lip Balm – Strawberry Review

LOTUS LIP BALM REVIEW

Hi IMBB beauties,

I searched the blog for a review on Lotus Lip Balm but none was available and considering that most of us like Lotus products, I decided to review it. I have been using Lotus balm for the last 4 years so you all can imagine how much I love it . 🙂

Product being Reviewed: Lotus Lip balm

Flavours Available: Strawberry and Orange

What the website claims:
Lotus Herbals lip balm’s highly active moisturizing formula helps to repair dry, cracked and chapped lips and protects them from the drying effect of cold, dry winds of winter, making them look healthier and smoother.

Directions for use:
Apply evenly to lips as necessary. Use twice daily.

Ingredients
Strawberry lip balm: strawberry extract, honey, jojoba oil, almond oil, wheatgerm oil.
Orange lip balm: orange extract, honey, jojoba oil, almond oil, wheatgerm oil.

Packaging/ Price:
This lip balm comes in a cute little transparent pot with a cream coloured cap. It is quite handy, classy and can be easily carried while travelling. The price is INR80. I got the strawberry flavour for me.

Texture/ Flavour/ Staying Power
Lotus Herbals  lip balm is like Vaseline petroleum jelly, not at all sticky when you apply on the lips. It has medium consistency and has a light fragrance to it and though it seems tinted( strawberry shade), when it is applied to the lips, it is quite sheen. It stays well on the lips for 2-3 hours. Also, I love the flavour, if by any chance it gets into your mouth, you will surely love the strawberry taste 😉
This is how it looks:

My experience with the product:
I started using this lip balm way back in 2007. Irrespective of the weather or the season, my lips always become and dry and I have to constantly apply a lip balm in order to provide the much needed moisture to my lips. So I got this from the market just to try since I have been quite satisfied with other lotus products also. I apply it on my lips without fail every night and in the morning my lips feel soft, supple and extremely moisturized. Even during the day, whenever it is applied, it gives a glossy finish to the lips.

Lotus Strawberry lipbalm

You can clearly see in the above pic, the area which has this sheen has been applied lip balm.
I even apply it underneath before applying lipsticks and my lips remain hydrated and moisturized.

Pros of the Lotus Lip Balm

1. Very moisturizing.
2. The fragrance is mild, you can actually smell strawberry’s . 🙂
3. Packaging is quite sturdy and travel friendly.
4. Jojoba Oil as an ingredient which is quite nourishing for the lips.

Cons of the Lotus Lip Balm

1. It comes in a jar, so applying it with fingers every time is quite unhygienic
2. No SPF, doesn’t protect from depigmentation.
3. Needs to be applied often, staying power is not that good.
4. Though it seems tinted, the colour never shows on your lips.

Final Verdict

Though an average product but it seems to be working well for me, so I would definitely repurchase it.
