Lotus Herbals Pomegranate & Plum Energizing Skin Polisher Review

Lotus Herbals Pomegranate & Plum Energizing Skin Polisher

Lotus Herbals Pomegranate & Plum Energizing Skin Polisher

How is skin polishing any different from scrubbing or exfoliation. This question kept bothering me and I picked up Lotus Herbals Pomegranate and Plum Skin Polisher to find an answer. Since the time that Lotus Herbals had come out with the skin polisher formula with Kiwi and Grapes and Plum and Pomegranate, I had wanted to pick up both. Since I love plums more than Kiwi or for that matter grapes, I went ahead and bought the one with plum and pomegranate.

Lotus Herbals

My Take on Lotus Herbals Pomegranate & Plum Energizing Skin Polisher:

IMBB reviews have reinstated my confidence back in Lotus Herbals as a reputable skin care brand which comes up with effective and low-cost skin care products.  Recently, I bought the Lotus Herbals Whitening Masque and then this polisher too, and I found both to be quite okay.

This polisher made up of plums and pomegranate is dark maroon to almost blue in color due to the artificial colourant Brilliant Blue in it.  Again, you can smell the plums and pomegranate out of the tub, but then it is not nauseating.  There is no stench as such.  The polish is a thick high viscous amalgamation of plum seeds, plum extract, pomegranate seeds, and pomegranate extracts.  You can see the white polish granules in the tub, which are not at all abrasive.

skin polishing granules

Actually, this scrub is perfect for those girls who neither like their scrubs to be too mild nor too harsh.  I come in this particular category and that’s why I am perfectly alright with this.

Only a little quantity is required and after moistening, it is suggested that you rub it in a circular motion.  The first thing I felt was the gummy texture (probably due to the xanthan gum) and then I felt the minute granules working their way. After continuing the process for another two minutes, I could feel that it had done exfoliation effectively on my face.

Skin polishing 3

When I rinsed, the first to go were the granules and then it did take a bit to wash off the gummy texture, but it went all clear leaving without any kind of film or layer.

After rinsing off, I realized that my face was really clear of dead cells, but then, it does leave my skin a little bit dry.

Also, I would like to point out that I did experience a slight bit of stinging sensation during the polishing process, but I would also like to mention that at this point of time, my skin is very tender and peeling due to the acne creams that my dermatologist has prescribed and that might have compounded the stinging sensation, so I am not blaming this polisher for that.

The details on the pack says it can be used daily whereas a scrub can be used maybe once in every 3 days as per me, but I have found that I can use this polisher daily.

Pros of Lotus Herbals Pomegranate & Plum Energizing Skin Polisher:

  • An effective skin polisher that polishes away dead skin cells.
  • This is good enough to be used on a daily basis.
  • Quite a big tub, so it will last for more than one month even if used daily.
  • Minute and non-abrasive polish granules made up of plum and pomegranate seeds that perform the exfoliation part.
  • Contains the goodness of Plum and Pomegranate extracts.
  • Good enough at Rs. 245.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Pomegranate & Plum Energizing Skin Polisher:

  • Contains artificial colourant in the form of Brilliant Blue, it may be harmless, but I thought I should point it out.
  • Did cause a little bit stinging, but my skin is peeling right now because of the anti-acne creams by the dermatologist, so I am just not taking it as a con as such.
  • The label claims all fancy anti-ageing, skin renewal, rejuvenation, etc., etc., but I would just say, it does provide a clean fresh look and nothing more.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5 (minus points are entirely for the fancy claims, why can’t they just leave it at “gives a clean and fresh look.”

Will I Buy Again:

Yes, I would also like to try the Kiwi and Grapes one now.

Do I Recommend:

Yes, if you fall in my category of someone who wants neither mild nor abrasive exfoliation, but something in between.
