DIY Rejuvenating and Exfoliating Rice Face Mask
We all are aware of the effectiveness of homemade face mask with fresh ingredients and that they work wonders, but somehow because of the busy life we all depend on store brought ones. Anyways today I am going to share a very quick and easy DIY with you. This face mask leaves skin feeling so soft and rejuvenated with healthy glow. I am sure all the ingredients are available right now in your house itself. So let’s get started.
You will need:
Rice flour- 1 tbsp
Milk powder- 1 tsp (Mixed in with rice flour)
Honey- ½ tbsp
Strong brewed green tea- 2-3 tbsp
Rice flour– Rice flour has so many skin benefits apart from cooking, do you know Chinese woman swear by applying it on their face for keeping it fair and glowing. It is a good anti-inflammatory agent, it soothes sunburns and also promotes the skin’s repair. It works as an antioxidant for the skin. Plus it is a great exfoliant for skin, I have sensitive skin and so have to be very careful with all the scrubs as sometimes they leave my face red, rice flour is so finely milled that it works for very sensitive skin as well. So next time when you run out of your regular scrub give it a chance, you will forget st Ives scrubs as well.
Milk Powder– Milk powder is a concentrated form of milk and therefore is very high in lactic acid; it helps in reducing skin pigmentation and tanning, and therefore lightening skin as well. It will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth, no wonder Cleopatra bathed in Milk.
Honey– Honey works as an inflammatory, if you have any itching or redness on your face try applying some honey on it, and see how it soothes your skin immediately. It brings moisture in dull and dry skin, and also works as a great skin cleanser.
Green tea– I am sure we all by now included green tea in our diets, because of its numerous health benefits but is works great topically as well because it is so rich in antioxidants, works great as reversing sun damage on skin and for anti ageing.
• In a small bowl mix in rice flour and milk powder well.
• Add honey in them and mix well till everything comes together.
• Last add in strong green tea to form thick a paste. You will need 2-3 tablespoons of it depending on how much does rice flour absorb, and mix well to form a smooth creamy consistency. If you are using 1 tea bag for a cup of green tea, instead use 2 to make it more strong cool down and use.
Now apply it on face and neck to form a medium thick layer and leave it on for 8-10 minutes till it dries. Once dried wet your fingers and lightly scrub face and wash off with water and follow up with your regular moisturizer.
