I recently went a little overboard on nail and hand care. I recently spotted the new nail care range from Essence and went on a spree to buy a lot! Today’s review is on Essence Clean and Start Nail Cleanser. Read on to know more
What the company claims:
At first! The cleanser removes excess oil and residual dust – for a longer-lasting manicure, apply on the natural nail and leave to dry before applying a base coat or nail polish.
Price: €1.79 for 8ml
Ingredients: ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, ETHYL ACETATE, BUTYL ACETATE.
My Experience with Essence Clean and Start Nail Cleanser:
Who doesn’t love to have a perfect manicure? I always prefer having one at home than heading out to a parlor. It is pocket friendly and you can spend extra time to give the perfect care your hands and nails need. My nail on the thumb always peel out and I had to purchase something to keep it at bay. I bought lot of nail care products and few for the perfect manicure so you always have to start clean and thus when I spotted this product I wanted to pick this one up.
The product comes in a nail polish bottle. It is all transparent and has a white cap. The nail cleanser is runny and smells like acetone. It is clear and with the brush it is easy to apply on the nails. I initially thought that this is a nail polish remover but it isn’t. The nail cleanser doesn’t remove nail polish but instead removes the dirt and oil from the nail before you apply your nail polish. When you have a manicure and apply lotion/ hand cream all over your hand, you need to wait or use a towel to remove the cream remains on the nails and start with a base coat. But with a nail cleanser you do not have to wait for it and instead apply this and voila, you can start with the base coat and finish off soon!
The cleanser also dries very quickly. It takes 10 seconds or so to dry. When I first applied, it looked like applying a base coat and within few seconds when it disappeared, I realized that it is nothing like that and the looks deceive! The nail cleanser effectively removes the greasiness from the nails and provides a clean slate to start with. My nail polish lasts 2 days extra when I use the nail cleanser, then base-coat, followed with nail polish and finished with top coat. It stays the same even when I skip the top coat.
The product delivers what it promises. The only drawback I have is with the brush. The bristles are fine and needs several dips to apply one nail. I wish essence improves this. But, Overall the product is a good one and a must have if you wish you have a perfect manicure. So, summing up:
