Hair Dryer Shopping Suggestions: Ask IMBB

Pooja asks:

Hi,

I got a hair cut done…on the eve of my birthday. I loved the cut but right after the first wash , they were back to their frizzy unmanageable self. So I have decided to get a blow dryer or a straightener or something of the sort to occasionally tame the up.

This decision has, however, given me one of the biggest head-aches ever. I personally don’t like straighteners. A hair dryer is something that I can buy, but I am confused whether I should buy salon dry ion one by Philips or the new Philips air straightener (with ion technology). Please help!

  1. Hi pooja, the air straightener of philips or any other brand for that matter (which has a brush attached or a rotating brush) don’t have enough wattage (read power) to dry your hair from wet to dry in short time. These are meant to be used on near dry hair to give them definition. That means you have to air dry your hair or use a regular powerful hair dryer first, and then use the air straightener else it will take a really long time.
About the frizz, it will go away only with a straightener. Hair dryer can control frizz only to a certain extent.
