Home Remedies to Get Rid of Spider Veins
Spider Veins, also known as varicose veins can be understood as twisted, inflated veins on skin, most commonly found in legs and ankles. Spider veins are usually harmless but don’t look very attractive. In many cases, spider veins vanish on their own after a few months, but quite a few home remedies can speed up the process. Here are few to try on:
Home Remedies to Get Rid of Spider Veins:
Apple Cider Vinegar: Soak a cloth with apple cider vinegar and apply it on your spider veins as a compress. Allow the cloth to remain in place for 15 to 20 minutes, and then remove. Repeat the process once or twice a day for at least one month to see positive results. You can also simply rub Apple Cider Vinegar on your spider veins on days when you are in a hurry. Apple Cider Vinegar helps to reduce the appearance of spider veins by increasing circulation to the affected area.
Witch Hazel: Saturate a cotton ball in witch hazel extract, and then apply it directly to the affected area a few times a day until you see the reduction in spider veins.
Cabbage: Finely chop the cabbage leaves after washing them thoroughly. Put it in blender with required quantity of water so that you get a thick paste. Apply this to your varicose veins affected skin area. Take a linen cloth and wrap it around the leg or other body part where you have applied cabbage paste. It will not only hold the paste in place but will also let your skin breathe. You may leave this for a couple of hours and then wash off. Repeat 2-3 times a day.
Essential oil mix: Mix 3 drops each of Chamomile oil, Carrot seed oil and Lavender oil in 1 cup water. Soak the cloth in this mixture. Wring it to drain the excess and place it on the affected areas. You may do it daily to get relief from itching and broken varicose veins.
Some Do’s and Don’ts:
• Do exercise daily. Any leg exercise whether it be leg toning exercises or walking will help increase circulation to get rid of your spider veins.
• Do not sit or stand for longer periods at a stretch. If your work demands so, take breaks after every 30 minutes.
• Lose weight. Being overweight is one of the major causes of varicose veins.
• Have a balanced diet. Include more fiber in your meals. Fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants are good for you.
• Avoid wearing high heels.
• Sleep on your back and place a pillow under your legs to increase circulation and get rid of spider veins.
