Kryolan HD Skinliner in Shade No. 12 Review

I have already reviewed the Kryolan Skinliner in Black.  My review today will be of the Kryolan Skinliner in Shade no. 12.  There are 12 shades in this range, all of which can be used for various purposes like drawing tattoos, costume makeup, precise makeup detailing, eyeliner, lip liner etc.

Product Claims:

Skinliner represents a new concept for precise makeup lines on the face and body and also serves as a perfect lip and eyeliner. Skinliner is applied easily and conveniently. The soft silicone tip draws a precise line and the color ink demonstrates excellent adherence to the skin, without running. Waterproof. Kryolan Eye Makeup Remover is recommended for removal of waterproof Skinliner.

My Take on Kryolan HD Skinliner in Shade No. 12:

I bought this shade without swatching it at the store thinking it would be one good, pigmented brown, but it turned to be a dull, less pigmented black. This shade in no way is brown but the color at the end of the pen fooled me into thinking it is. As you can see from the swatches, it is not too pigmented and doesn’t even look grey. It looks like an old sediment liquid eyeliner that has lost all its pigmentation. I am personally not a fan of the color and I mostly just use it to make my eyeliner precise.

On its own, it stays on me for about 8 hours which I love. The only downside to this range is that they are not waterproof. The liner starts to run with water and that is a big turn off since the company claims that the entire range is completely waterproof. How do they call it semi-permanent when it is not waterproof in the first place?

Pros of Kryolan HD Skinliner in Shade No. 12:

• Easy to apply.
• Great staying power.
• A multipurpose product.

Cons of Kryolan HD Skinliner in Shade No. 12:

• Not a fan of the shade.
• Not well pigmented.
• Not waterproof.
• Availability is an issue.

I am not a fan of this shade, but I loved a lot of things about Shade no.10 (Black) and because of that, I would definitely like to try other shades from this range. Just that they’re not waterproof but otherwise, for the price, they’re a steal.
