I recently saw two Lakme Enrich Lip Colors lying totally unused on my mother’s dressing table. They had been lying there since many months and I thought I should give these a try. One of these is Ginger Red which I am going to review today. I am sorry I don’t remember the name of the second one and I have no idea where I kept it and it’s going to be very hard for me to find it out in the middle of the night with temperature less than 5 degrees. I just checked the temperature five minutes back, so I am flaunting. By the way, how are you all finding the winters this year? Isn’t it very cold? I have never felt this cold ever. Earlier, I used to love roaming here and there in winters, but now I can’t even think about going out. I am not even shopping this year because of the winters. Now enough with my useless talk and let’s come to the review:
My Experience with Lakme Enrich Lip Color Classics – #461 Ginger Red:
Lakme Enrich Lip Colors come in classic maroon square boxes with a golden band in the centre mentioning the name of the brand. The shade name and number are mentioned at the bottom. Though the packaging is not at all pretty and attractive, it is definitely sturdy and travel friendly. Ginger Red, though named red, is nowhere near red. Its a medium brown color with hints of maroon. It has fine golden shimmer in it. The golden shimmer isn’t too overpowering, but still, it is visible. If you don’t like shimmer, stay away from this color. It forms a good party wear color because of the shimmer. The shimmer is easily visible in sunlight, but can be worn easily indoors. This color will suit all complexions and looks flattering on lips. It instantly brightens out my face.
It is quite pigmented and a single swipe is enough for complete opaque coverage. It glides on softly and smoothly on lips, but not as softly and smoothly as the “Absolute” range lipsticks. It has satin finish to it. It doesn’t dry out my lips, so a lip balm can be skipped beneath it without any issues.
The shimmer doesn’t feel gritty on lips. I am not impressed with the staying power of this lipstick. It stays on my lips for about 2 hours and then fades unevenly leaving some product in the lines of my lips. It doesn’t survive meals and is easily transferable on glasses.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Lakme Enrich Lip Color Classics – #461 Ginger Red?
No, though there are many pros and this lipstick is okay type, I won’t repurchase it because there are better options available at the same price like Faces Go Chic range and Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks. If I have to choose between Absolute range and this, I will, without any doubt, go for Absolute range.
