Hello everyone,

Continuing with my review on the amazing Makeup Geek shadows, I have the a shade from the duochrome range and it’s called “Typhoon.”

Product Description:
Similar to the weather, Typhoon is a little bit unpredictable—sometimes it’s teal, sometimes it’s green, and sometimes it’s gold! And just as a typhoon spins out of control, you’ll be turning heads when you’re wearing this smooth and stunning duochrome.

My Take on Makeup Geek Typhoon Duochrome Eyeshadow Pan:

Packaging:  This eyeshadow comes in a pan, which you have to pop into a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.

Shade:  The shade “Typhoon” is described as a deep teal base with green and gold reflects. To me, it looks a little like a mix of teal with olive khaki green. It has a golden duochrome shift which makes the color look very complex. The shimmers are ultra-fine and are not distinguishable individually unless you look up close but they lend themselves to this beautiful complex multi-dimensional sheen. This color is absolutely stunning in person when it catches the light. It would be an apt party wear color and pairs beautifully with brown eyes.

Pigmentation:  The pigmentation is amazing. It goes on with a complete opaque color in 1-2 layers, packed on with a flat shadow brush. It is also easy to blend out the edges which do not turn it patchy. Though it does lack the touch of creaminess which the foiled shadows have, they are still no less vibrant and beautiful.

Texture:  The feel of this shadow is powdery and densely packed, but it is not gritty even with the presence of shimmer. It applied smoothly with little to no fallout and did not emphasize the texture of the lids.

Staying Power:  Staying power is great. It stays for a good 8-9 hours on my primed lid with absolutely no creasing or fading.

Overall, I am super impressed with all Makeup Geek shadows I have used so far. They are so consistent in quality on the whole and deliver stunning pigmentation and amazing performance. I will not hesitate to recommend them.

In the EOTD, I have used “Typhoon” all over the lid and blended out the crease with “Dirty Martini.”
