Design Makeup Organizer Drawer Using Shoe Boxes – Do It Yourself

Dear Beauties,

Here’s wishing everyone a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year, may all your makeup wishes come true this year :D !! So, today I will be showing you all a very creative DIY which I made some time back to store my makeup items. Most of you know I have recently moved to KL and trust me moving is just not good for your expensive makeup items especially if you are travelling overseas! Though the flat we moved in was fully furnished, but there just wasn’t enough space to store my makeup and skin care products! So, I thought why not put the empty boxes to a good use!

Look what I made out of 4 empty shoe boxes!!!Ta-da!!!! My very own makeup drawer organizer!! isnt it cool?

So, let’s get started.  To make one of your own, you will need 4 empty shoe boxes or any box, but we need 4 identical, plus glue, scissors, ribbon and tapes.

Items that you will need:

Step 1:

Take a lid and chop off one of the long sides and you will get something like below.

Step 2:

Repeat the process for one more lid. These two will be the sides of your organizer.

If required, stick the insides of the lid using tape or glue.

Step 3:

Now, for the base of your organizer, take another lid and chop off all the sides leaving one long side and you should get something like this.

Step 4:

Stick the base of your organizer on the sides using glue or tape, see the below picture for reference.

So, you will get the below structure:

Step 5:

Now, for the top of your makeup organizer, take another lid and chop off the small ends.

Step 6:

Now, you can place the boxes into your structure and it should look like:

Place the lid on top.

Step 7:

Now, you are probably wondering how will you pull out the drawers, so for that using a screw driver or scissors punch 2 holes in the middle of your boxes and insert a ribbon as shown.

Glue the ribbon behind so that it does not move or you can even tie knots at both the ends.

Step 8:

You own makeup organizer drawer is ready to be used :)

You can decorate it using colorful papers etc., but since I did not have any, I have kept it plain and simple :)

This is a very easy and effective way to use any old boxes you have and store your items neatly! Just make sure to use sturdy boxes which can withhold some weight.

Hope you all enjoyed this DIY, I will be back with a new one very soon :)

Until next time, take care and stay beautiful!
