I got it in the shade Nude. Although ‘medium beige’ shade merged well on my arm but my facial skin is lighter than my hands  so the SA suggested that Nude would look perfect on me and yes, it does. 😉

My Take on Revlon PhotoReady Makeup SPF 20 Foundation: I wanted to own a full coverage foundation that would look wonderful for parties/functions sorts and I got a perfect answer to this in the new Revlon Photoready makeup foundation.

It gives a nice even coverage to the face. The finish is dewy and skin glows as it contains very fine shimmer particles which are not easily noticeable. On closely observing only, one can see those shimmer particles. This dewy and shimmery effect makes it best for party/function wear kind of stuff. Although it is an anytime wear kind of foundation.

It does what all it claims superbly. It gives a medium to full coverage depending on your use and would hide any normal skin flaws on your face. I have a few acne marks which it hides easily without the need of a concealer. If you do not suffer from severe dark circles, then it can also be covered to a great extent using this alone.

Texture wise, it is a liquid foundation and I found it a little runny than my MF Age renew foundation. Easy to put on, smooth and even coverage. Seemed to blend evenly and felt quite light on my skin; actually it does not give a feeling of having applied something on the face itself. I felt that my skin could actually breathe. It truly gives an undetectable coverage.

I am super impressed with the packaging. The product comes in a small fat cute glass encasing with a pump dispenser. The pump is also covered with a lid which makes the overall packaging attractive and hygienic.

Staying power is great. It easily stays on for 5-6 hours without the need of any touch-up. Just to check this, I wore it in the morning and did all my daily chores, even cooked, remained in a non-AC environment, even stayed for an hour without fan but still I did not feel any oiliness or sweat at all. It’s clearly water resistant too.

Now why named Photoready? I clicked my snaps in different lights after wearing this foundation and believe me; it looks as natural as ever. No white cast, nothing. It gives a healthy glowing look to the face without looking cakey and surely makes you Photo Ready 😉

Pros of the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

• Blends smoothly and evenly on the skin.
• Gives a nice shine and a dewy finish to the face.
• Very light weight and still gives an undetectable coverage.
• Contains SPF-20.
• Minor concealing and the medium to full coverage give an overall great effect on the face.
• Lasts easily for 5 hours or so and with a makeup base, can last much longer.
• Water resistant.
• Does not make the face oily even after hours of application.
• Does not give a white cast or looks cakey on application. For me, it’s my skin but better feel after applying this one.
• It will look great for party/function wear, for sure.
• 2 drops or the product is enough for the face and neck region. So this 1 bottle is going to last me for quite long for sure.
• Attractive, sturdy and hygienic packaging.
• No smell associated with the product.

Cons of the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

• Will not cover your major skin flaws.
• The shimmer, for me, does not make it an everyday ideal wear one.
• The shimmer & glossy look may not work for oily skinned people. You have to try it once for hrs first and then make up your mind to buy this one.

blending

After blending- just see the dewy glossy look it delivers.

Top arm (applied foundation), I hope you are able to see the difference in both my arms.

Ratings: I would personally rate it 4.25/5

Recommend: If you are looking for a full coverage foundation and if you prefer shimmer effect then this is a superb product waiting for all of you to try out. You won’t regret buying this one.

    1. it will surely be my HG Rati… the weather here is very pleasant these days & I have worn this foundation for the entire day on a stretch without even chking for any sweat/oiliness on the T-zone or so.. the face luks so bright n fresh for 6 hrs or so ..its like wow.. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
only thing is the shimmer so it’ll b a gud option for sum special occasion wear types for me..  but if one sets it using a matte compact then it’ll surely rock anyday… :jalwa: :jalwa: :jalwa:

  3. Nice review!!! :teddy: :teddy: :teddy: Only con for me is that my face turns oily even with matte finish foundations like mousse 🙁 🙁 🙁 else this looks like a good alternative to revlon colorstay :waytogo: :waytogo:

    1. i so want to try the revlon colorstay now… i think tht has to hold as for now coz my MF is doing a gr8 job for me… :victory2: :victory2:
u need to try this 1 b4 buying then anu… :waytogo:

  4. :thanks: for the review..my friend is using the compact powder from this range is really happy with it…I am not a foundation person but would def be a good buy for occassions when you need full coverage

    1. I picked it up for the same reason Parita :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: .. the compact is now on my wish list… lets c when i pick tht up… 😉 😉 😉

        1. i wont suggest this for daily wear.. but thts my own choice coz of the shimmer which is undetectable but yes its there… :specs:
my daily wear or say normal wear is the Max Factor age renew which gives a matte finish…n revlon has a colorstay foundation which is the most promising product in foundation range, try tht one too.. thts matte also..
parita, i dont have oily skin so cant say exactly whether this will suit u or nor, the company nowere says ki this is meant only for dry skin or oily skin.. its us wh judge tht & best way will be for u to try it urself, i went to he mall, tried it the first thing on my hand n roamed around for 2 hrs n finally bought it coz there was abslutely no chg in the appearence on my hand swatch, u do sumthing like this but on ur face n assure urself..

    1. its better than MUFE HD shannaiia… i dont own tht but after reading reviews online only, I gathered this info :haanji: .. many pple hav compared it wid MUFE HD n found it better.. rest u can chk it urself n then make ur decision :waytogo: :waytogo: …n if u r a dry skin type like me then it’ll work very nicely…

      1. me have combination skin but I will still try it ..Thanx Nids and Rati :-* :-* ..this one after discount will cost me Rs 720 and Mufe Hd costs a good Rs2100 …if this works for me then i’ll say bye bye to MUFE and spend the 1300rs on sumthing else 😛 😛 😛

Btw I like revlon foundations ..i use the age defying with botafirm and the colorstay ones:) Now time to try Photoready :)) :))

  5. ooooh nice review.. but you know i read somewhere it isn’t for Dry Skin.. is it so? cause i have dry skin and your review made this product very tempting to me 😛

    1. well its working fine for me suma.. i too have dry skin.. i think using a gud primer or after ur normal CTM, this foundation gets nicely absorbed into the skin… i apply it with my bare fingers n then use a damp sponge to set it properly… for me it’s working gr8 :yahoo: :yahoo: …
n just c the consistency na..y wud it be a prob for dry skin, i dont undrstand..
u already all glowing in ur marriage pics suma, so if u need more glow then chk this out.. 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉

  6. Rati and gang – i finally splurged on MAC – NC 40 in foundation and NC 42 in concealer. now all these numbers make sense to me. 🙂 I love it and the best part is that my sis gets some discount at Macy’s (a big dept store) and i got both together for 1440 bucks :yahoo: :yahoo:

    1. you in US aruna.. Congosssss :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: hawwww!!! both for 1440 :pissedoff: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug:

      1. me back to India now..will send some fotos across..i love what i bought. i thot i wud do one big cosmetics purchase and thot MAC it is but it turned out to be quite inexpensive so bought hazaar other stuff like lip glosses from ELF, eye pencils from payless (shoes store) etc. .not to forget bags and clothes too ..:)

          1. hahaha…bahut rare hai Nids..but thoda please let me show off ..pleassssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :haanji: :haanji:

    2. hain 1440 mein dodno… yahan to 1 hi aayega itne mei aruna… :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali:

  7. A friend of mine has this… and it looks very obvious on her when she wears it. Willing to give it a second chance on your recommendation.

    1. shimmer is there Shai which reflects in sum light :haanji: but otherws, i asked my hubby n my frnd too to judge any diff in my face but they cudnt at all still they were like staring at my glowing glowing face.. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
i’ll put up my dp here to the 1 i clicked after wearing this foundation.. u’ll c no shimmer in tht..

      1. thanks for d suggestion nids 🙂 but i already have the revlon colour stay one and it looks awful on me. :yikes: :yikes: :ghost2: so much so that i have stopped using any foundation since a year. some moisturiser and compact, thats it for me  ….till i find my HG :methinks:

        1. ohh then u better try the compact only frm this range tht too have very fine shimmer and gives a gud coverage..will bea gr8 chg frm the normal matte compacts then.. :waytogo: :waytogo:

  9. Mom got this foundation yesterday only and she’s loving the coverage .I am glad you reviewed it too . I agree it does have some shimmer but this foundation is great for parties and all 😀 😀

I was thinking to get the custom eyes pallette too but it looked so chotu in the shop that I didnt feel like splurging so much money on it 😐 😐 😐

    1. oh wow… :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: its a fab product..

  11. nice review nids :waytogo: but will it be ok for evening n night time wear…i thought spf pdts gives a whitish cast to the face and in photos when used in evening….

    1. yes laks.. thts wht i bought it for, functions r mostly nite time only, i took these pics in flash during night itself, n its luking gr8 😉 … it has additional spf which will be suitable for daytime wear too…

  13. I sooooooo wanted to try this but unfortunately i am in a very small city n we dont have revlon products in shops :(( so i was thinking of ordering it online.
but now as i read ur review, it seems its not for me 😥 am oily skinned 😥 i was counting on it for my marriage but :headbang: 😥
seems i would have to go with colorstay but this one really makes the skin glow!!
    not for me though 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥

  14. This can seem extremely strange. I have read at least a dozen reviews regd. this product that it contains shimmer and is apt for dry skin. But I have purchased this foundation yesterday and when i went home and swatched it, to my dismay, found NO so called Shimmer, is so drying on my skin, such that i can hardly blend it without adding some moisturizer. It does say Oil free but not “for Oily Skin”. Secondly SPF 20 gave me a white mask like appearance…. Photoready- What Photoready ??
I dont understand why this is happening. Did any one of you have this experience.

  15. hi

I recently bought revlon photoready foundation ( NUDE) and it suits me well. Now I would like to buy compact powder ( revlon photoready compact powder) . I am little confused in shades , Light medium or fair light? Which one would be best ?

  16. Hi, help me out please, im new to make up, i want to hv a choice betwen revlon colourstay or photo ready for my cousins wedding, which will be better option?? I do hv a normal to dry dusky skin. I want to be photographed well .
