Hey Guys!

Today I’ll be reviewing a Sephora lipstick from their “Rouge Shine” range, in the shade No.12. Ever since the Sephora store opened in Select Citywalk in Delhi; I had been determined to try something out from there. The only problem was that every time I walked into the store, the enormous amount of makeup that surrounded me, always kinda overwhelmed me. I couldn’t decide on the products that I wanted to buy- because I wanted to buy everything. So I always ended up walking out of the store empty handed and also, kind of disappointed. So a couple weeks ago, I walked in, determined to try something out for once, and found myself swatching lipsticks (as usual). I decided to try this one Sephora lipstick that I had my eye on from my very first visit. So here it is guys, let’s jump into it.

• Contains 3D shimmering particles and Shea Butter for extreme radiance

My experience with Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick – No. 12:

Gloss-it’s the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of this lipstick. It is extremely glossy, and it gives that “wet lips” look. It goes on so softly and smoothly and is extremely moisturizing. It makes my lips feel very slick. I was genuinely surprised with the colour intensity of this product because if a lipstick is very glossy, you are almost certain that it will be very sheer. But no, not in this case. The colour intensity of this lipstick is medium to full. This particular shade, “No. 12” is a very gorgeous brownish pink. With a single swipe, I get a very good coverage, as you can see in the lip swatch. But you can always build it up to an extra juicy, extra glossy look.

The formula is so incredible because they are so moisturizing and hydrating and at the same time, provide a good colour pay off. But as they are so glossy and hydrating, they are not long wearing at all. I find that the more hydrating and moisturizing a lipstick is, the more likely it is to wear off. I get about 1-2 hours of wear with this lipstick, which doesn’t say very well about its longevity. There is a lot of shimmer in the lipstick, which I usually mind, but because this lipstick is so glossy I think it tones down the appearance of the shimmer and it blends in very well overall, without looking “glittery”. I just had to add a few pictures taken with flash to show you show the shimmer in the lipstick and how beautiful& effortless it looks. The lipsticks come in a sleek black casing, with “SEPHORA” labelled at the lower edge of the case. The case shuts firmly with a “click” sound. The bottom of the case is see-through, which reveals the colour of the lipstick. This makes these lipsticks very convenient to store upside down, as you can easily see the colour. The name/number of the shade is on the inside of the lipstick; it comes printed on a sticker. On the product, they are named in numbers but on the Sephora website, each lipstick has a name, such as, mine No.12 is “Guest List”. I just found it a little odd that they didn’t print the name on the lipstick itself. When you twist the lipstick, there is a beautiful “S” engraved on the side of the lipstick, adds a nice little touch. In the end, I really like this lipstick, I think even though it has shimmer, it can be worn as an everyday lipstick to add that “glam” factor to your look. 😀

• May be tooo glossy for some
• No name printed on the product

Yes, I would repurchase this product! I love how this lipstick looks on me and I find myself reaching for it all the time.

Yes, if you are into meg- glossy lipsticks that also offer good pigmentation. Also, if you don’t mind a couple re-applications throughout the day 😛
