Shahnaz Husain Champi Hair Oil Review

By Nancy Shaw

Hello everyone,

Hope you a had romantic Valentine’s weekend. Today, I am going to talk about a hair care product Shahnaz Husain –Champi hair oil, sounds cute? I came across this product during my trade fair visit in December last year. There was a Shahnaz Husain stall buzzing with a herd of people :D. I heard the SA shouting “Champi oil” that caught my attention, and decided to give it a look and ended up buying the product . (There was 50 % discount on them too).

The SA couldn’t stop gushing about the hair oil, it’s a coconut-almond oil with amla extract, claiming it can make my hair less frizzy and shinier and bouncier and bring back life to my hair, yes, sadly my hair does need all of those mentioned traits; but I had doubts that just a hair oil alone could do so. Anyways, I was told to apply the hair oil just an hour before shampooing and that’s it!! So let’s see how the product fared.

Price– Rs.100 for 100 ml

Expiry – This hair oil comes with an expiry date of 5 yrs..!!!

Packaging – It comes in a plastic bottle, not very sturdy but travel-friendly. It comes in 50 ml and 100 ml size bottles.

Claims– This perfect blend of natural hair oils and extracts has been specially developed to nourish the hair and promote hair growth. Coconut and almond oils have been combined with amla extract to strengthen the hair, making it soft, smooth and lustrous. Ideal for traditional ayurvedic head massage, the formulation improves blood circulation to the follicles, controls hair loss, stimulates hair growth and induces relaxation. It benefits dry, dull hair, moisturizing it and providing the essential nutrients for healthy hair growth.

My experience with Shahnaz Husain Champi Hair Oil :

It’s a nice fruity smelling sort of coconut and almond-y, but I think it might be a bit strong for some. As said by the SA, I applied the oil about one hour before shampooing, and it did actually help my hair. My hair was less frizzy and smoother; I must say here that my hair is super dry and frizzy. I won’t say it’s the Holy Grail hair care product, but for some last minute help, it works well; basically for people who tend to avoid chemical stuff for hair care. For its reasonable price, I think its pretty decent. The effect lasts for good 2-3 days.

The only negative I found in this product was that it has parabens! I am a bit skeptical about what I use on my hair, as I am going through a frightful hair-loss phase. I tend to use everything herbal or home-made. So parabens make using this product a bit tricky.

  1. I was really looking forward to this review thinking its a Shahnaz hussain product. But the moment you mentioned paraben , I was like phew. Not me. How good it would be isnt to have a paraben free products.

    1. Ya i know same goes for me 🙁 , but considering that we have to use this for just an hour and then shampoo afterwards , i guess its ok.

      1. i used this for 4-5 consecutive times and i do think it reduced the hairfall, but i am trying another oil regime as well, nevertheless i do think that regular use of this champi oil can reduce hairfall 🙂 🙂
