5 Incredible Blush Hacks For Gorgeous Glowing Skin

Hi everyone,

My post today is about five incredible but extremely simple blush hacks that can totally change what blush does for your face. I recently wrote a post on the five ultimate cheek products you need this festive season. I hope that this post will give you some tips and tricks on how best to use those products so that you can get the most out of them.

Let’s take a look at what these blush hacks are:

1. Find the right brush for your blush:

When it comes to blush, the most important thing to do is to find the brush that gives you controlled and precise application. Blush is one of those makeup products that you can easily go overboard with while applying it, so it’s important to find the right tool. For me, the Real Techniques Blush Brush works exceedingly well. Once you have identified your favourite blush brush, the next thing to do is to figure out where you need to apply your blush. This depends entirely on the shape and structure of your face.

2. Use dry oil to blend your blush better:

Because of the pigmentation of the product, blush is one of those products that require a fair amount of blending for it to look natural on the skin. Mixing your blush with a little bit of dry oil can really help blend in the product better on your skin. This will provide your skin a natural and lit-from-within type of radiance.

3. Mix your blush with a little bit of bronzer:

One of the tricks that I find very handy is to mix your blush and bronzer together and then apply it to your cheeks. Not only does this make it look much more natural, but it instantly lifts your face and gives it that boost of radiance and a healthy glow.

4. Use your blush as a correcting concealer:

If you don’t own a correcting concealer or happen not to have one handy, you could actually use your blush as one! If your blush has pink or peach undertones, it can work very well as a correcting concealer for under the eyes or for any dark spots or hyperpigmentation around the face. All you need to do is take a little bit of the blush product onto your fingertip (you could do this with either a powder blush or a cream blush) and mix it with a little bit of petroleum jelly or Vaseline. Now, gently dab that underneath your eyes or on any darkness around your face. You will instantly see the difference and those areas will look lifted and radiant. If you find that the parts of your face where you have applied the blush as a corrector are looking too pink or peach, you could layer your regular concealer on top of this to even out your skin tone.

5. Multi-task with your blush:

This is the tip that I find myself using most often. Your blush is actually one of those makeup products that can be put to so many uses. It is truly a multi-tasking makeup item. If your blush is a slightly deeper toned one, you could use it as a blush-cum-contour. Apply the product in the hollows of your cheeks and blend it out to get a neat and sculpted look. You can also use any blush as an eyeshadow. And, finally, you can use your blush as a lipstick. If it is a cream blush, you could use it as a lip tint as it is. If it is a powder product, then all you need to do it blend the product in with some petroleum jelly and apply it to your lips.
