7 Beauty Tips to Get Over Your Hangover

Today’s post is another one on the winter party season. As I have mentioned before, this season is my favourite month of the year because it’s cold, beautiful and extremely festive. This is the party season of the year, which means that we get to experiment with lots of outfits and makeup. While you’re busy shopping for your ideal party outfits and stocking up on makeup and beauty essentials for the party season, it might be worthwhile to spare a thought for the post-party scenario.

Lots of parties means lots of fatigue and sometimes even bad hangovers, which isn’t a pleasant experience by any means. All that junk food and alcohol can take a huge toll on your skin, making it look extremely dull and tired. What, then, is the best way to look and feel better on such days?

Here are 7 beauty tips that can instantly help you look and feel better on the morning after a party.

1. Rehydrate yourself:

A hangover is essentially the result of a severely dehydrated body. When at the party, make sure you’re drinking enough water to avoid the onset of a hangover. But in case you still wake up with a hangover, make sure to sip on something like coconut water throughout the day to rehydrate your body and skin. You will instantly see and feel the difference.

2. Cleanse deeply and moisturize:

Most of us are too tired to cleanse our face properly and to remove all the makeup after a long night of partying. If you’ve been guilty of that, do this first thing in the morning. Use a cleansing balm or an oil-based or cream based cleanser to gently remove all traces of makeup. Make sure not to use a harsh or stripping cleanser. Follow this up with an ultra-hydrating cream or lotion. This will instantly make you look and feel better.

3. Use a tinted moisturizer:

To hide signs of puffiness, dullness and fatigue, use an all-in-one tinted moisturizer or BB cream. This will give you the coverage you need while still letting you skin breathe. Avoid using too much makeup when you’re already feeling exhausted and hungover. It will only accentuate the fatigue. If you really need more coverage, use a lightweight concealer on top of the tinted moisturizer.

4. A lengthening mascara will wake you up:

As the next step, use a lengthening mascara. This should be all you need for your eye makeup. This will instantly make you look more awake and radiant.

5. Pop a painkiller:

If you’re still plagued with a headache, take an aspirin. Aspirin will not only get rid of the headache, but the anti-inflammatory properties in it will improve how your skin looks. It will help reduce puffiness and other signs of fatigue on your skin.

6. Use a cream blush to look radiant and healthy:

Skip the powder products for this day and opt for something light and refreshing such as a cream blush. Pick a shade of pink or peach that looks most natural on your skin and tap it onto the apples of your cheek for a flushed and refreshed look.

7. Opt for a hydrating tinted lip balm:

Finally, prevent your lips from chapping and flaking, which is very common when you have a hangover. Gently exfoliate your lips with a hydrating sugar scrub and follow it up with a deeply moisturizing tinted lip balm to leave them feeling nourished and to give you a healthy finished look.

I hope you find these tips helpful to look beautiful and refreshed even after a long night of partying!
